Your Role
As a Gensler Architectural Designer, you will collaborate with our design team to develop innovative design solutions as well as coordinate the design through the construction documentation phase of a project.
You will be successful because you already know how to translate an architect's sketches and documents into realized 2D/3D models and images, and can research artistic and/or technical issues when they arise.

What You Will DoParticipate in all project phases, with a primary focus on design development, construction documents, and construction administration.
Support periodic project meetings and presentations; ensure client is adequately briefed on project progress.
Develop a comprehensive understanding of clients' program requirements, standards, and policies for completion.
Communicate between the project team members, clients, contractors and consultants.
Assist in the design development, modification and/or review of project concepts and solutions.
Assist in establishing overall project budgets and milestone schedules in coordination with project managers, architects, and project engineers.
Communicate planning concepts to project teams, both verbally and through graphic and written reports.
Ensure all work is carried out to the requirements of the client, with the design team working to the correct specifications and delivering a high quality and timely product to the client.
Anticipate and develop innovative solutions to technical and design problems following established standards.Collaborate with design team, clients, consultants, contractors, fabricators, regulatory agencies and other vendors to meet overall project objectives.
Support project sustainability targets throughout project phases and actively engage in delivering them.
Your Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Architecture, or equivalent
6+ years of related project experience
Proficiency in modeling using 2D/3D software, such as Revit, AutoCAD and/or Rhino utilizing V-Ray.
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and SketchUp
Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines efficiently
Knowledge of materials, construction techniques, and building codes
Knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and parametric design software, including Grasshopper is a plus
Able to communicate fluently in Japanese and English
LEED accreditation is a plus
