Role Overview:
We are looking for a
Total Rewards Specialist/Manager
to lead the design, implementation, and governance of compensation, benefits, and incentive programs at our IK Plant. This role ensures competitive, compliant, and motivating reward practices that support talent retention and operational excellence. You will work closely with plant leadership, Finance, and global HR teams to create practical and cost-effective Total Rewards solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Compensation Strategy & Governance:
Manage base salary, allowances, shift premiums, overtime frameworks, and weekend operation schemes. Align pay structures with market benchmarks and global frameworks. - Incentive Programs:
Design and administer operator and staff incentives, including productivity, attendance, skill-based, and retention programs. Evaluate effectiveness and propose improvements. - Benefits Management:
Oversee statutory and supplemental benefits, ensuring accessibility for shift workers. Recommend benefit enhancements and manage vendor relationships. - HR Policy & Compliance:
Ensure compliance with Japanese labor laws, manage allowances, and lead internal/external audits. - Compensation Operations:
Manage annual salary reviews, promotions, bonuses, and allowance updates. Ensure accurate payroll data and provide guidance to managers. - Analytics & Reporting:
Deliver compensation analytics, support budgeting and forecasting, and create dashboards for decision-making. - Stakeholder Engagement:
Collaborate with plant leadership, Finance, and global HR teams. Communicate reward programs clearly to employees and managers.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, Finance, or related field
- 5–10+ years in Total Rewards, Compensation & Benefits, or HR Operations (manufacturing experience preferred)
- Knowledge of Japanese labor law; multinational experience a plus
- Strong analytical skills; proficiency with Excel and HRIS (e.g., SuccessFactors)
- Experience designing incentive programs for manufacturing workforce
- Native Japanese; English proficiency preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with job grading frameworks/job architecture
- Experience with shift work, weekend operations, or high-volume operator workforce
- Experience in fast-growing or restructuring organizations
- Knowledge of global compensation guidelines
