CUSTOMS CLEARANCE SPECIALIST AT XYZ COMPANY

You will join our team as a key member of the Customs Clearance department, contributing your expertise and skills to ensure Operational Excellence.

Your Role:

You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and vendors (sub-contractors) to organize and approve value-added services, specifically customs clearance services, for our clients. Your specific responsibilities will be defined by the country's structure and your manager and may include the following tasks:

  • To plan transportation efficiently while considering customer commitments and cost-effectiveness.
  • To liaise with customers regarding pick-up/drop-off details.
  • To secure permits and necessary customs documentation.
  • To coordinate additional services like fumigation, stuffing, and Certificate of Origin.
  • To handle all communication with vendors, excluding carriers.
  • To update system statuses and relevant documentation related to company services.
  • To handle Dangerous Goods approvals, if the situation arises.
  • To evaluate the performance of sub-contractors to enhance service quality.
Your Responsibilities:

You will play a crucial role in collaborating with internal stakeholders and vendors to facilitate and approve customs clearance services tailored to meet our clients' needs. The extent of your responsibilities will be determined by the company's structure and your supervisor, encompassing various tasks such as:

  • Efficiently organizing transportation to fulfill customer commitments at optimal costs.
  • Coordinating with clients to determine specific pick-up and drop-off locations and times.
  • Securing permits and handling customs-related documentation.
  • Arranging additional Value-Added Services such as fumigation, stuffing, and Certificate of Origin.
  • Managing all vendor communications, except for carrier interactions.
  • Ensuring accurate system updates and maintaining relevant documentation for company services.
  • Handling any necessary approvals for Dangerous Goods shipments.
  • Assessing the performance of sub-contractors to drive service enhancements.
