Service Engineer

  • Advanced-level digital architecture solutions ranging from control systems, automation systems, to software coding.
  • Advanced-level Installation, testing and commissioning of digital solutions.
  • Advanced Support requests for warranty inspections, rectification, and fine-tuning.
  • Advanced in Workshop testing of control systems (PPC)
  • Workshop repair of failed or damaged components
  • Field repair of failed or damaged components
  • Investigate, inspect, test and report on RMA's
  • Writing technical reports on serviced equipment.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting
  • Ensure equipment & tools are functional, calibrated and available for services delivery.
  • Identification and reporting of new business on site

    • Education:

  • Electrical Engineering qualification
  • Digital solutions experience required (SCADA, PPC, )
  • Medium Voltage Field Service Engineer training (Transformers, RMU and Switchgear) preferred
  • HV switching preferred
  • Full Japanese Driver's License

    • Hard Skills:

  • Read & interpret electrical schematics & mechanical diagrams
  • Read & interpret software coding for control systems
  • Strong computer efficiency; Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Strong ERP/CRM tool administrative tasks

    • Job Related Experience:

  • Previous Schneider Electric product service experience is essential (commissioning and/or troubleshooting capacity)
  • Perform electrical preventative and corrective maintenance on PV solar systems.
  • Electrical testing or servicing experience preferred
  • Familiar with Voltage Testers, Multi-meters, Current clamps, Oscilloscopes, Voltage Test Procedures, Lock Out- Tag Out, fiber-optics, Electric Static Discharge (ESD), Accumulator Charging etc.
  • Familiar with database, control systems, system automation, BMS, SCADA, SQL etc.

    • Business Understanding:

  • Service business excellence knowledge highly desirable

    • Others (e.g. language skills, technical skills):

  • Cross-cultural skill requirements:
  • Willing to work closely with R&D Teams located in Asia, America and Europe
  • Japanese language is a must

    • Travel requirements:

  • May require stationing near key sites if stated/assigned by Service Contract
  • Occasional local travel and interstate travel.  (20%)
  • Flexible approach to working hours and days

    • Job Scope Requirements:

  • Retain and apply technical knowledge gained from in-depth training
  • Interest and Ambition to develop a detailed knowledge of Power Electronics products and Software platforms.
  • Document and report
  • Perform site audits as necessary
  • Perform system ERP/CRM tool administrative support and operations
