As a Network Engineer, you will:
- Lead the design and planning of data center network infrastructure with a focus on security, availability, and performance
- Operate, upgrade, and maintain Fortinet's data center network infrastructure
- Drive continuous improvement through automation, optimization, and process enhancements
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex network and virtualization issues independently and collaboratively
- Provide technical leadership by actively sharing knowledge and supporting team members
- Create and maintain documentation for configurations, troubleshooting procedures, and operational processes
- Assist with hardware procurement, staging, and deployment as required
- Participate in a rotational on-call schedule to provide after-hours support
We Are Looking For:
- 3+ years of experience supporting or operating mission critical environments
- Solid knowledge of network administration and industry standards, equivalent to CCNA or higher
- Strong hands-on experience with routing and switching technologies, including BGP, OSPF, and VPNs
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills, including experience with at least one scripting language (e.g., Bash, Python)
- Experience with network, server, and systems monitoring tools (e.g., Zabbix, Prometheus)
- Basic working knowledge of server virtualization technologies (VMware, KVM)
- Familiarity with DCIM or source-of-truth tools (e.g., NetBox)
- Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Effective communication skills in both English and Japanese
