【募集の背景 / Purpose & Scope 】

Astellas aims to create strong R&D portfolio with world-class science and technology, and Innovation Lab, one of R&D functions, is strengthening research capabilities with a particular focus on selected non-oncology diseases and small molecule and biologics modality innovation. Advanced Modeling & Assays (AMA) is responsible for evolving advanced models by leveraging assay development, iPSC platforms, and proteomics. It leads global biology-based lab automation and executes projects to deliver value for patients.

This position is to conduct experiment and to discuss, generate data with team member on the assigned research area of AMA, target identification and target validation using high-end LC-MS/MS, for development of next generation assay platforms with improved specific targeting, efficacy and safety using holistic approach.

In addition, she/he is expected to proactively interact and collaborate with relevant collaborators aiming to solve the problem on experiments associated with not only assigned projects, but also next generation assay platforms.

【職務の内容 / Essential Job Responsibilities 】

• In the assigned area, execute the activities that are required to build new assay platform by using technologies, such as digital technology for automation/visualization, iPSC/MPS, Biology/cell-based screening and proteome analysis.

・ Utilize proteomics for various analyses in drug discovery research, such as target identification and target validation using high-end LC-MS/MS

・ Improve efficiency and accessibility throughout the entire proteomics process, including the automation of sample preparation and the enhancement of data analysis and interpretation.

• Provide ideas to develop Modality/Technology platforms by utilizing existing research platform.
• Apply scientific rationale to assigned job, including experimental design, analysis, and interpretation.
• Learn from senior members and co-work for the common issues in the collaboration.
• Adhere to research compliance and laboratory safety.
• Utilize external expertise and cutting-edge science into in-house research.
• Utilize digital transformation with knowledge of digital technology.
• Conduct research activities to ensure that a team meets its milestones and all other objectives in collaboration with the other research divisions, CROs and external collaborators.

【応募要件 / Qualifications 】
<必須 / Required >

• Three years or more of working experience at a biotech/pharmaceutical company or the equivalent experience at academic research
• Experiences for proteomics or genomics
• Experiences for development of cell-based assay
• Knowledge and experience of drug discovery and development
• Experience of working in cross functional environment
• Experimental skills
• Developing communication skills (active & passive) in own language and in English
• * Attending meetings
• * Giving presentations

• Expertise in LC-MS/MS measurement and analysis.
• Knowledge and experience of assay platform (AI/robotics, human cell/organ modeling, iPSC, biology/cell-based assays and proteome analysis, etc.)

• Familiar with biologics-related Dx/AI technologies
• Experience of working for external collaborations

③フレックスタイム制の場合:月間の所定労働時間を超えて勤務する時間に対して時間外勤務手当を支給

① Base salary: will be decided by the candidate's experience, skill and capability.

② When Discretionary Work System is applied: Discretionary work allowance will be paid.(50,000 ~ 100,000yen, based on the Grade)

③ When Flextime System is applied: Overtime allowance will be paid for time worked in excess of prescribed working hours.
