The Discovery Chemistry Group within Engineered Small Molecules (ESM) conducts mainly early-stage drug discovery and platform research in oncology, with a focus on medicinal chemistry.

To advance high-quality lead compounds toward clinical candidate selection, the group seeks talented medicinal chemists with deep expertise in medicinal chemistry, the ability to design and synthesize complex molecules, and a strong commitment to improving patients' health.

This position is to drive research on targeted protein degraders or to establish next-generation proximity-inducing drug discovery platforms.

A person in this position will need to collaborate globally with cross-functional stakeholders in program management, biology, ADME, and toxicology, as well as with external partners such as CROs and research collaborators.

【職務の内容 / Essential Job Responsibilities 】

Work as a project team member to drive early-stage drug discovery or platform research.
Design and synthesize target molecules and analyze assay data to inform the next cycle of drug design.
Collaborate with CROs to advance research programs effectively.
Propose ideas for new medicinal chemistry projects.
Participate in program-related meetings and contribute to program progress through suggestions and discussions.
Ensure that daily experiments comply with internal and external laws, regulations, and compliance standards.

Master's degree in life science
5+ years of experience as a medicinal chemist in the industry
Good communication skills in English to work with global collaborators and CRO partners
An interest and motivation for the drug discovery process and chemical based new modalities
Ability to work collaboratively within a team

Ph.
D in life science
Ability and skills on AI technology and automation for effective research operation
Experience in working with cross-cultural teams.

②裁量労働制の場合:裁量労働手当として職務グレードに応じて 50,000 ~ 100,000 円支給

③フレックスタイム制の場合:月間の所定労働時間を超えて勤務する時間に対して時間外勤務手当を支給

① Base salary: will be decided by the candidate's experience, skill and capability.

② When Discretionary Work System is applied: Discretionary work allowance will be paid.(50,000 ~ 100,000yen, based on the Grade)

③ When Flextime System is applied: Overtime allowance will be paid for time worked in excess of prescribed working hours.
