The Role
As a Senior Solution Consultant, you are the pivotal technical and subject-matter expert for our PLM and/or ALM solutions, driving sales opportunities. You will team up closely with Sales and our partners to provide pre-sales technical leadership, moving beyond product demonstrations to articulate, facilitate, and validate the business value of PTC's solutions for customers' complex design and data-management challenges.
Your Team
As part of the Solution Consulting team, you will work with seasoned consultants whose mission is to build new pipeline by understanding customers' businesses and delivering measurable value in digital transformation. The team drives strong short- and long-term impact on company goals. This role requires close interaction with Sales, Business Development, Customer Success, and Marketing, as well as global functions.
Your Day-To-Day
- Engage with customers to understand their requirements and pain points.
- Investigate current business processes to identify problems, complexities, non-value-added steps, and inefficiencies that can be improved.
- Present PTC solutions to different levels of an organization, from executives to technical staff, with the ability to alter the presentation style based on the audience present.
- Use demonstration environments that have been personally configured to ensure the customer can see themselves at the center of the demonstration.
- Translate technical capabilities and map these to values propositions that resonate with customers' pain points.
- Respond to RFIs/RFPs in a concise, well thought out manner.
- Understand sales methodologies (e.g., MEDDICC) to be able to support the sales team in the execution of the sales lifecycle, particularly in early sales qualification/prove stages.
- Become a trusted partner what works alongside the sales team.
- Collaborate with local and global PTC teams to ensure that best practices, use cases, market information, etc. are shared and leveraged.
- Act as the opportunity team leader to coordinate the engagement of global technical resources on local opportunities.
- Act as a thought leader for Digital Transformation for manufacturing companies in sales/marketing activities, conferences, seminars, industry events, etc.
- Drive successful adoption and expansion of PTC solutions by working closely with customers IT teams to ensure successful deployment and implementation.
- Track customer solution usage and adoption to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction and retention.
Skills and knowledge most relevant to the job:
- Possess comprehensive engineering & discrete manufacturing process knowledge.
- Demonstrate a proven track record of presales engineering and/or implementation of complex software solutions, for discrete industry customers.
- Proficient in PLM and/or ALM and related technologies, and ability to explain and demonstrate these solutions to customers and partners. Experience with PTC products (Windchill, Codebeamer) or similar solutions is a plus.
- Experience in programming languages (Java, JavaScript, Go, Python) a big advantage.
- Knowledge of Web systems: HTTP, HTML, CSS, REST API, etc. Basic knowledge of operating systems, e.g., Linus, an advantage.
- Ability to understand technical configurations and customizations.
- Ability to create customized, live demos using customer data and scenarios/use cases.
- Able to track changes and developments in a fast-paced software development environment and integrate these into future presentations and responses.
- Able to build a wide network of internal peers – in Japan, in region, and globally – and coordinate input from these peers to deliver complex solutions and educate customers and partners.
- Curiosity outside of your core expertise, positive attitude, good business sense and good communication skills.
- Able to prioritise and manage conflicting project schedules, work independently and ensure that deadlines/expectations are met.
- Willing to challenge the status quo to help drive for better outcomes.
- Fluent in Japanese; working-level business English: speaking, reading, writing.
