We are looking for:
Field Application Engineer
We are seeking an experienced Field Application Engineer (FAE) to provide technical support and design-in assistance for our cellular IoT module portfolio.
The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between our customers' engineering teams and Eagle Wireless product development, ensuring successful integration of our solutions into next-generation connected devices.
Main responsibilities:
Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support to customers across Japan
Conduct technical presentations, product demonstrations, and training sessions
Support customers through the entire design cycle from concept to mass production
Troubleshoot hardware and software integration issues related to cellular modules
Collaborate with R&D and product management teams on customer requirements and feature requests
Assist customers with regulatory certification processes (TELEC, carrier approval, etc.)
Create and maintain technical documentation, application notes, and reference designs
Gather market intelligence and competitive information
Travel domestically to customer sites as required (approximately 20-30%)
Required qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
5+ years of experience in FAE, applications engineering, or embedded systems development
Good knowledge of cellular technologies (4G LTE, 5G NR, LPWA)
Experience with embedded systems, including microcontrollers and real-time operating systems
Hands-on experience with debugging tools (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, protocol analyzers)
Strong presentation and customer-facing communication skills
Fluent in Japanese (business level) and English (technical communication level)
Self-starter with a proactive attitude who takes initiative without waiting for instructions
Preferred qualifications:
Experience in automotive telematics, industrial IoT, or M2M applications
Familiarity with GNSS, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth technologies
Proficiency in schematic review, PCB layout guidelines, and RF design principles
Knowledge of AT commands and cellular module integration
Experience with Linux-based embedded and/or RTOS-based platforms
Understanding of Japanese carrier requirements (Regulatory, DoCoMo, KDDI, SoftBank)
Prior experience at a semiconductor, module vendor, or Tier 1 supplier
