Senior Java Backend Developer – Digital Asset Management Platform

About The Project
Join a high-impact initiative to rebuild and expand a legacy Digital Asset Management (DAM) platform for a leading e-commerce marketplace. This platform enables merchants to register and manage product images and banners, supporting marketplace growth and innovation. The new system will feature a robust core API, cloud-based object storage, a React-powered Web UI, and external APIs for seamless integration.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead backend development using Java 21 and Spring Boot
- Collaborate with a small frontend team utilizing a React-based framework
- Design and develop REST APIs with strong emphasis on testing (JUnit) and code reviews
- Architect scalable, maintainable systems for high-traffic environments
- Integrate relational (MySQL/distributed) and NoSQL databases, caching, and messaging systems (Redis, Kafka, RabbitMQ, Memcached)
- Implement container architectures (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Work closely with engineers and product managers to drive technology selection and detailed design
- Break down work into actionable tasks and manage execution
Required Skills
- 5+ years backend development experience (Java/Spring Boot)
- 5+ years REST API design and development, JUnit testing, code reviews
- Experience with relational and distributed databases
- Hands-on experience with container architectures (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience with application design for traffic scalability
- Experience implementing caching and integrating NoSQL/messaging systems
- Experience in frontend development using React (small team, 1–2 engineers)
Tech Lead Additional Requirements
- Experience managing large-scale development projects (50+ person-months), including parallel management of multiple projects
- 5+ years as a Tech Lead, including architecture design for high-traffic web systems and technical decision-making
- Experience designing systems for scalability and maintainability
- Experience with Google Cloud Storage
