avatarin was established as a spin-out of ANA Holdings Inc.
in 2020 to democratize mobility by opening the door to a world in which anyone can instantly and sustainably transport themselves to a remote destination.
avatarin aims to achieve this goal through the development of core technologies that enable real-time teleportation of human presence and skills through robots and other mobility solutions.
This new avatarin capability will not only help the world efficiently share its skills but also exponentially expand the spectrum of human interaction data that can be collected from real-world experiences.
avatarin's flagship product is a mobile, communication AI avatar robot called newme.Deployment of the newme robot is the first step in a larger vision to pioneer an instant, sustainable, and inclusive mobility network to connect people to places and experiences.
avatarin has been operating newme robots in aquariums and museums since 2021 and is working to expand deployment to public spaces including airports, hotels, hospitals, government offices, train stations, and retail stores in Japan and around the world.
■Job DescriptionWe are looking for a senior engineer / tech lead, with focus on native C++ development skills, and the ability to port it to higher level languages such as Python, and Javascript.
Strong understanding of software optimizations and testing, ability to write clear and well documented code, and to generate production level SDK that can be used by other developers and teams.
You will be a software tech lead responsible for the development and managing the team output of the application backend in Telepresence and avatars.
We expect the candidate should excel in working with large-scale applications and frameworks and have outstanding communication and leadership skills as a Tech lead.
As for this position, you will work on the SDK codebase providing new features, improvements while closely working with the SDK users in-house.
On top of that you will also engage with the team members in a daily manner to maintain the product deliverables, review code quality, and plan the SDK roadmap with higher management.
We need our engineers to be versatile, display leadership qualities and be enthusiastic to take on new problems across the full-stack as we continue to push technology forward.
■ResponsibilitiesDesign and build reliable, easy to use, well documented SDKs for real-time applications on desktop and mobile platforms.
Optimize existing software developed in C++.
Coordinate cross-functionally to ensure the project meets business objectives and compliance standards.
Collaborate with Product and other Development teams on improving and adding new features.
Develop support software applications, hardware interfaces, and new functionality enhancements.
Write clean, high-quality, high-performance, and maintainable code.
Code reviews, Sprint planning, deliverable management and team management.
■Must-have skills
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience.
5+ years of relevant work experience in C++ as a Tech lead.
Professional experience in C++ development with proof of work (e.g. via github repositories).
Software development experience in one or more general purpose programming languages (e.g. python, nodejs).
Knowledge of porting native C++ code to higher level languages: python modules, JS NAPI.
Strong knowledge of software design patterns, object oriented programming, data structures and algorithms.
Strong collaboration, communication skills, and a passion for learning.
