Department Overview
The EC Expansion Development Department is responsible for the development and operation of online systems supporting businesses such as Rakuma, Yoyakusuri, and Rebates.
You will have the opportunity to be involved in some of Japan's largest commerce services and further develop your skills in a global environment.
For this position, we are specifically seeking a QA professional for "Rakuten Rebates" ), a points-back service operated by the Rakuten Group.Position

To further strengthen our quality assurance activities, we are seeking a highly skilled and passionate QA Team Leader who can lead the QA team for Rakuten Rebates.
Position DetailsFormulate quality strategies, create test plans, and drive their execution for Rakuten Rebates
Work closely with Product Managers, Project Managers, and Development Engineers
Monitor and report on quality KPIs, analyze trends, and identify root causes
Direct offshore QA members (approx. 5–7 people) in test case creation, progress management, and deliverable reviews
Design and execute tests onsite as needed
Form a team with one onsite QA member and fulfill the role of team leader
Maintain high team performance and drive continuous process improvement through standardized QA processes
Prepare daily and weekly reports and communicate results to stakeholders
Test Targets
Web applications for PC and smartphones
Android and iOS smartphone applications
Browser extensions
Backend batch processing and APIs used by web/smartphone applications
Work Environment
The QA team consists of both onsite and offshore members, and works in a global environment where both English and Japanese are actively used, collaborating closely with engineers and other development members.
Mandatory Qualifications
3+ years of experience in test design and execution for web or smartphone applications
Knowledge equivalent to ISTQB Foundation Level
Experience as a team leader or in a similar role
Experience collaborating with offshore teams or external vendors
Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with other development members (product managers, project managers, engineers, etc.)
Desired Qualifications
Knowledge of the e-commerce domain
Experience in API testing
Knowledge and experience in test automation (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Appium, etc.), including designing and operating test automation frameworks and executing tests in CI/CD environments
Experience in performance and security testing
Experience using task/document management tools such as JIRA and Confluence
Ability to read and communicate using Japanese specifications
