Business Development Director
As a Business Development Director, you will be responsible for developing new businesses in mobile Device Lifecycle Solutions (DLS) with assigned clients. Your main goal is to turn efforts into closure of new deals and achieve financial goals for the assigned clients.

Primary Job Accountabilities/Responsibilities

• Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for assigned clients ensuring alignment with the overall goals and plans of Japan BD & Sales team.
• Build deep relationships with Top 4 MNOs (Mobile Network Operators) and other partners to understand their strategies, directions, business plans, and immediate to mid/longer-term needs. Identify areas where Assurant can provide help for their success and structure customized solutions in the form of business proposals leveraging Assurant global and local products, solutions, best practices, and emerging technologies in the mobile industry.
• Own and drive deal acquisition for assigned clients by collaborating closely with global teams, especially with Global Products, Global BD/Sales, and IT to structure realistic feasible solutions.
• Lead project management for the implementation of new deals, collaborating across functions to ensure successful delivery, including formulating projects, negotiating contracts, engaging and influencing relevant internal teams, and stakeholders to drive the project forward.
• Manage P&L for the assigned clients, review progress vs. goals, adjust plans/forecasts, and provide performance and financial reporting to relevant stakeholders.
• Conduct competitor analysis regularly, reporting on the competitive environment with proposals on increasing sales for the assigned clients.
• Develop and present strategic recommendations to leadership regarding growth, ecosystem initiatives, and competitive dynamics.
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned by the manager.

Experience/Skill/Knowledge Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a relevant field.
• Bilingual in Japanese and English.
• Keen interest in the mobile industry.
• 7+ years of experience in developing new business schemes, selling customized solutions, and closing deals.
• Proven track record of business development by nurturing key client relationships and achieving strategic goals.
• Extensive experience in leading and managing projects.
• Customer-facing experience with the ability to work effectively with senior executives/C-level decision makers.
• Strong business and financial acumen and understanding of profitability, market dynamics, and deal structure.
• Ability to collaborate with global teams, influencing project outcomes.
• Quick learner with an interest in understanding Assurant products, solutions, and best practices.
• Well-organized with excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing.
• Comfortable operating in dynamic and ambiguous situations, resilient, and proactive.
• Creative thinker with a can-do attitude, strong sense of ownership, and high level of comfort in presenting key issues to senior leadership.

Preferred Experience, Skills, and Knowledge

• MBA or Master's degree in business, finance or a related field.
• Strategy acumen, using analytical insight to solve problems and communicate solutions.
• Working experience in or familiarity with the mobile industry.
