A well known multi-national retailer is looking for a Finance Director to lead a large Finance team locally and act as a business partner to the Japan CEO.

Responsibilities:
Drive business performance to achieve corporate strategies and objectives.
Establish strategic financial goals aligned with company targets and annual budgets.
Lead financial forecasting and business adjustments to ensure achievement of financial objectives.
Manage and oversee P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reporting and forecasting.
Oversee capital expenditure planning and investment management.
Partner with business functions to support delivery of financial and operational goals.
Ensure statutory financial reporting and tax compliance under Japan GAAP, US GAAP, and IFRS.
Manage cash flow, liquidity, and loan arrangements to maintain financial stability.
Handle special financial projects and requests such as due diligence and business evaluations.
Build an effective and capable finance organization through talent development and upskilling.
Requirements:
Degree in finance, accounting, or a related field, with advanced certifications such as CPA or CFA preferred.
Minimum of 8 years in a senior financial role, with proven experience across budgeting, reporting, tax, and audit functions. Experience in retail sector preferred.
Proficient in using financial systems and Excel to analyze and present financial data effectively.
Fluent in Japanese and English at a business level or above.
Experience in managing larger sized teams.
