Job Overview
A global technology solutions provider is seeking a Senior Embedded Engineer (Bilingual Japanese/English) to develop and maintain embedded control software for high-performance equipment.
The role involves working onsite with cross-functional teams and coordinating with offshore developers to implement robust and efficient software solutions.
Key ResponsibilitiesWork with client departments to gather, analyze, and translate requirements into software specifications.
Understand existing system architecture and system-level requirements.
Prepare system designs and develop embedded software in C for VxWorks/RTOS environments.
Conduct software verification, unit testing, and debugging on devices.
Maintain benchmarks for source code quality, versioning, and coverage.
Manage project schedules and software lifecycle (SDLC).
Support offshore development teams in implementing specifications.
Validate software on equipment and resolve issues during testing.
Collaborate with QA teams to ensure compliance with quality standards.
Must-Have Requirements
Strong C programming experience in VxWorks or other real-time OS environments.
Hands-on expertise in IPC, multithreading, synchronization, thread priorities, and memory optimization.
Experience in developing and integrating multi-layer applications.
Practical experience creating design specifications and UML/ML diagrams.
Proven experience in schedule management and SDLC oversight.
Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and teamwork skills in Japanese and English
Related work experience: 10–15 years.
Nice-to-Have Skills
Familiarity with VxWorks build environment, makefiles, APIs, libraries, and internal tasks.
Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes and industrial equipment.
Basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines and tools (Jenkins, Bamboo, GitLab, Bitbucket).
Experience managing onsite + offshore projects.
Employment Terms & Benefits
Annual Salary:
YEN 7,000,000 – 10,000,000 (paid monthly, 1/12th each month).
Annual Appraisal:
Once a year.
Commuting Allowance:
Up to YEN 20,000/month.
Overtime Pay:
As applicable.
Social Insurance:

Retirement Age: 65 (possibility to continue as consultant post-retirement).
Training:
Online and in-house programs.
Trial Period: 3 months (no change in terms).
