Department Overview

The Agent Experience Department (AGEX) is pioneering Rakuten AI ), a general-purpose assistant that helps users with everyday questions and tasks through clear and trustworthy conversations. On top of this foundation, we aim to connect users to Rakuten's 70+ services to make discovery and engagement easier across the ecosystem.

Position Details

Responsibilities
- Design and implement data collection frameworks and scalable, reliable data warehouse models.

-  Analyze AI assistant interaction data to generate actionable insights that inform product development and drive user growth, engagement, and retention.

- Identify key metrics and behavioral patterns to inform product development decisions.

- Design and execute A/B tests and experiments to validate hypotheses and optimize user journeys.

- Communicate findings clearly to stakeholders and contribute to research, experimentation, and product decision-making.

Mandatory Qualifications:

- 4+ years of experience in machine learning, AI engineering, or a related quantitative field.

- Strong Python and ML skills for building in-house tools, analysis, and prototyping.

- Experience with LLMs or Agentic applications.

- Solid foundation in statistics, experimental design, and predictive modeling.

- Possesses strong problem identification and formulation skills, with a track record of proactively identifying potential issues and developing effective solutions.

- Demonstrated ability to thoroughly research and evaluate potential solutions and identify the optimal approach for a given problem.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

- Japanese Language: Advanced Reading skills.

Desired Qualifications:

- Proficiency in Java.
