Your Key Responsibilities
- Ensure agreed quality standards for a specified product, from prototype phase up to parts released for production, for an assigned category (or technology) of a Business Unit.
- Carry out proactive Pre-APQP (Q-Readiness, advanced product quality planning) with suppliers during product development process.
- Initially assess and evaluate suppliers for quality, quantities, capacities, processes and supplier organization, before sourcing process (e.g. process reviews, on-site acceptance tests, performance tests) and define/track resulting measures.
- Plan, coordinate, implement and monitor all APQP activities in projects as assigned.
- Coordinate claims, special releases, change management and incoming quality control (IQC) process during the project phase.
- Close production part approval process (PPAP), and hand over to supplier quality engineering (SQE) organization with successful product and process approval.
Your Qualifications
- Education: - Engineer degree (Bachelor or Master) or comparable
- Fluent in both English and Japanese language
- At least 5-10 years of work experience in a similar position (e.g. Quality, Technology)
- Knowledge of Quality Management Systems
- Extensive knowledge of quality core tools & Methods (8D, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, Control Plan, 5S, Lean production, Error proofing, Traceability, …)
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes (commodity knowledge)
- Extensive knowledge of development processes, project management methods and those product which are supported.
- Basic knowledge of Automotive Spice and IATF 16949.
- Experienced in using MS Office, especially Excel and Powerpoint Soft Skills:
- Teamplayer and pro-active member in projects
- Good communicaton skills in international environment (Global suppliers & Customers)
- Strategic thinking - Capable to manage complex projects
- Self-initiated organization of work, regular analyzing of KPIs and initiation of corrective actions
- Self-initiated planning of supplier visits and regular follow-up on improvement actions on-site and verification of corrective measure efficiency
