About the Company / Role:
An industry-leading consumer goods company is seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee a team of 1-2 staff and report to the Japan CFO.

Responsibilities:
Handle end-to-end general ledger activities, including postings, reconciliations, accruals, provisions, fixed assets, inventory, payroll entries, and balance sheet and P&L reviews
Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, including inter-company reconciliation, adjustments, system closing activities, and preparation of statutory and tax-related reporting packages
Oversee accounts receivable operations such as billing verification, cash application, customer follow-ups, aging analysis, DSO monitoring, and responding to payment inquiries
Manage accounts payable processes including invoice processing, blocked invoices, payment proposals, down payments, and DPO tracking
Act as local finance system key user and administrator by supporting users, coordinating system issues and testing, maintaining master data, training staff, supporting finance projects, and liaising with shared services, treasury, auditors, banks, and regulatory stakeholders
Requirements:
Degree or professional qualification in accounting with at least three years of hands-on bookkeeping or accounting experience; professional certification preferred
Solid knowledge of financial reporting, internal controls, and accounting standards including IFRS; familiarity with regulatory and tax requirements in an international environment
Experience working with ERP systems, preferably
SAP, and strong proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Fluency in English with the ability to communicate clearly with internal teams and external partners
Strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to work independently, meet deadlines, collaborate effectively, and demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail
