Data Center Sr Engineer - Job Description

About the Role

As a CBRE Data Center Sr Engineer, you will perform advanced preventative maintenance and complex corrective repairs within a Data Center operation.

You will also provide leadership and guidance to junior team members, ensuring the highest standards of service delivery.

What You'll Do

Manage daily site inspections of all Mechanical and Engineering systems and technical equipment, including servicing and maintenance.

Ensure the site's environmental conditions provide a safe work environment.

Respond to Building Management System (BMS) alarms and complete emergency repairs as needed.

Document activities and report findings to management.

Assist staff with difficult planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance on all equipment.

Monitor BMS running and alarm conditions and respond to high-priority HVAC-related client issues.

Review and approve meter readings from UPS, PDU, and utility systems to ensure accurate documentation.

Serve as a subject matter expert in Mechanical and Electrical troubleshooting.

Complete assigned work following established processes and procedures.

Follow all safety processes and confirm regulatory requirements and quality standards are met.

Ensure adherence to ACOPs applicable to maintenance industry procedures.

Conduct complex quality checks to ensure comprehensive maintenance records.

Develop and implement work processes, Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) reports, and SOPs for critical work with risk assessments.

Complete all required training to successfully fulfil job responsibilities.

Apply in-depth knowledge of standard principles, techniques, and procedures to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.

Coach others and share deep knowledge of your job discipline, along with broad knowledge of several related disciplines.

Lead by example and model behaviors consistent with CBRE RISE values.

Build consensus and influence others to reach agreement.

Impact customer, operational, project, or service activities within your team and across related teams.

Work within broad guidelines and policies and explain difficult or sensitive information clearly.

What You'll Need

High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of job-related experience.

In lieu of a diploma, an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Prior shift manager or supervisory experience preferred.

Ability to meet physical requirements, including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and lifting or carrying 50 lbs. or more.

Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.

In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).

Strong organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.

Sophisticated math skills, including the ability to calculate percentages, fractions, and other moderately complex financial-related figures.
