Business Overview
Rakuten group has almost 100 million customers in Japan and 1 billion customers around the world, and provides more than 70 services such as e-commerce, payment services, financial services, mobile, media, sports, etc.
AI Services Supervisory Department (AISSD) provides data-oriented solutions by leveraging data science and Rakuten group's data gathered from 70+ services.
Among the AISSD, the Data Science Consulting Department (DSCD) serves as a bridge between the business units and the development units.

Driving data solution of Commerce Company of Rakuten Group (Rakuten Ichiba, Rakuma, Rakuten Fashion, etc.) by maximizing value of data.
Providing data-oriented solutions utilizing clients and Rakuten data for external customers, such as manufacturers, retailers, and local governments, through marketing actions such as ads and media.
Mandatory QualificationsStrong interest and understanding about data, data analysis, and making business value by utilizing data
Experience at a data analysis specialized company or in a data analysis specialized department
Analytical skills in utilizing data related tools or solution (Ex. SQL, Python, R)
Deep understanding of various business model in relevant businesses (see above scope)
Working experience of analytical research or strategic analysis
Capability for problem solving, strategic thinking, hypothesis thinking
Business level communication both in English and Japanese
Balance of standalone capability and team collaboration.

Desired Qualifications
More than 3 years of experience working at a business consulting firm
Experience of executive communication and presentation
Strategic partnership or investment related skills such as deal sourcing, valuation, contracting
Experience of new business development or business process designing
