Market Insights Analyst(Japanese & English)— Tech Giant | Tokyo
About The Role
Join the Human‑Centered AI – Human Evaluation team at a leading GAFA company.
You'll be the market expert for Music, Podcasts, and TV in Japan—representing real users, evaluating Large Language Models (LLMs), and improving search and recommendation quality.
You'll partner closely with Data Scientists and Engineers to turn insights into product improvements that millions of users will feel.
What you'll doOwn end‑to‑end analysis for the Japan market; deliver projects on time with clear, decision‑ready outputs
Raise the bar on data quality—monitor, audit, and continuously improve processes using both quantitative and qualitative feedback
Perform QA across diverse media assets: review, verify, edit, score, transcribe, copywrite, and report
Produce detailed reports on issues and patterns; translate findings into actionable recommendations for managers, statisticians, and engineers
Collaborate with DS/Eng teams to evaluate LLM search algorithms; design human evaluations and leverage automated benchmarks
Test and provide feedback on new relevance algorithms and features; run experiments and write crisp readouts
Analyze metrics and query logs to diagnose and resolve relevance and data quality issues; drive cross‑functional fixes
What you'll bring
3+ years of data analysis experience; strong proficiency in SQL, Python, and BI tools (Tableau or similar)
Hands‑on exposure to LLMs and evaluation techniques (human judgments, rubrics, automated benchmarks)
Ability to work cross‑functionally with Design, Product, Editorial, Safety, and Engineering; you move projects forward under tight deadlines
Sharp analytical and problem‑solving skills; you love details and know how to prioritize
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication
A track record of continuous process improvement and collaborative delivery
Deep knowledge of Japan's music/movies/media landscape and cultural context; you can speak for local users
Language:
Native/Fluent Japanese and Business‑level English
Nice to have
Experience in information retrieval, relevance, A/B testing, annotation/labeling ops, ML evaluation frameworks; degree in CS, Statistics, or related field; media or consumer internet experience.
