About the Role - Senior Engineer II
As a Senior Engineer II at American Express, you'll play a vital role in providing integration support across various Technology and Company Platforms. Collaborating with different teams, you'll ensure the alignment of technical solutions with business strategies to deliver successful outcomes. You'll have the opportunity to work on innovative projects and initiatives while contributing to the success of the company as a key team member. Reporting to the Director of Product Delivery & Integration, you'll be responsible for ensuring that projects meet enterprise standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with various teams to define business requirements and develop technology solutions.
- Ensure that the engineered environment meets business requirements and infrastructure needs.
- Design solution architectures and oversee end-to-end delivery of technology initiatives.
- Collaborate with business and technology teams to understand and document key principles and goals.
- Identify and implement innovative technologies to enhance operations.
- Analyze technology platforms and drive improvements in technology operations.
- Interact with partners to align architecture practices with business solutions.
- Develop scripts and programs to meet regional technology support requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, business management, marketing, or accounting.
- Hands-on experience with core technology components and frameworks.
- Advanced knowledge of solution architecture and complex application systems design.
- Understanding of relevant architecture domains and system design reviews.
- Skills in channel-specific solution architecture and Open Source components.
- Deep understanding of Service Oriented Architecture and SDLC methodologies.
- Business domain knowledge in the credit card or financial industry.
- Ability to optimize cycle time and speed to market of new products.
- Strong interpersonal, consultative, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in Japanese and English languages.
- Experience in software development lifecycle and agile project management.
- Flexibility to work in multiple time zones.
