Overview


In Microsoft, Small Medium Enterprise & Channel (SME&C) team, we are looking for people with a passion for delivering customer success.

As a Cloud Solution Architect (CSA), specializing in Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations reporting to the Cloud Solution Architect Manager you will enable SMC (Small, Medium, and Corporate) customers & Partners to achieve their business outcomes, based on their investments in Microsoft technologies.

Leveraging your leading technical team's expertise, you will drive the team to ensure customers get value from their Microsoft investments.

In this role you will adapt business models, plans, and solutions to insights. Act as the voice of the customers (VOC)/partners across communities to add and prioritize. Leverages and champions an existing architecture approach to achieve agreed commitments to the customer/partner. Demonstrate and prove solutions capability and value. Apply broad technical knowledge across various architecture solutions to meet requirements and resolve identified constraints. Lead customer/partner projects that implement technical architecture. Identify, escalate, and work to resolve technical blockers and route non-technical issues for removal. Adapt methodology and apply governance to minimize business and technical risks. Generate new ideas for changes and improvements. Develop and expand existing impactful relationships with stakeholders. Respectfully challenge customers/partners when going in the wrong direction and escalate appropriately. Identify Microsoft's strengths over competitive solutions to convince customers of solution.

Share ideas, insight, and strategic, technical input with internal teams using a thorough knowledge of specific Microsoft products and their context in the competitive landscape.

Participate in external architect community events and share learnings with the internal team.

Lead architecture design, resiliency reviews, and technical optimization that result in production deployment application and increase customer usage/Azure Consumed Revenue.

The CSA drives delivery execution through preparedness, precision delivery, overall utilization, and high customer satisfaction in a cost-efficient manner.

This role is flexible in that you can work up to 100% from home.

Responsibilities


As a Cloud Solution Architect specializing in Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O), you'll lead transformative cloud implementations for Customers & Partners in Japan.

This is a rare opportunity to as the F&O professional in the region to drive impact through the design and integration of complex systems into the Dynamics 365 ecosystem.

Provide feedback & insights from customers/partners back to the relevant MS teams including Product Groups, to enable continuous improvement.

Business Impact


Consumption (Cloud & Support) growth: Develop opportunities to drive Customer Success business results by providing expertise/guidance to technical decision makers to ensure they understand Microsoft's Business Applications value proposition and get value from their investment in Microsoft technology via solution optimization, operational excellence and performance efficiency.

Provide direction to Technical Decision Makers (TDMs) and build the bridge between TDMs and Business Decision Makers (BDMs).

Resolution of Customer Blockers:
Identify resolutions to issues blocking go-live of customer success projects by leveraging technical subject matter expertise. Lead technical conversations with customers to drive value from their MS investments. Deliver all work according to MS best practices & policies and using repeatable IP.

Identify growth opportunities:

Leverage knowledge of the products, services, and value propositions of Microsoft Business Applications in customer/partner conversations to identify growth opportunities based on knowledge of customer/partner needs.

To succeed in this role, candidates must demonstrate strong technical expertise, practical experience, and a solid understanding of Microsoft Business Applications, particularly Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O).


You will be able to demonstrate the following:


Prior experience as a Cloud Solution Architect (CSA), engaging with stakeholders at all levels within enterprise organizations to drive solution adoption, transformation, and business impact will be a plus.

Experience engaging with senior stakeholders, including C-suite executives, to influence strategic decisions and drive enterprise-wide solution adoption.


Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or related field AND experience in Finance & Operations ERP implementation as technical expert for 10 years or more.

OR


Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or related field AND experience in Finance & Operations ERP implementation as technical expert for at least 7 years or more.

Native Japanese skill with highest proficiency + English skill for internal communication is a mandatory requirement

Technical

Strong "Deep Technical Implementation" expertise on Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O) (Must Have Skill)
Deep technical expertise in Dynamics 365 F&O, including development experience in X++ across at least two modules: Finance, Supply Chain, Commerce, or Project Operations
Experience in conducting code reviews & performance tuning (Must Have Skill)
Proven ability in debugging and performance troubleshooting, including use of Trace Parser
Solid understanding of performance patterns and anti-patterns
Familiarity with AI-enhanced ERP capabilities such as Copilot in Finance, Demand Planning in SCM, and AI-driven forecasting and planning tools (e.g., Inventory to Deliver, Source to Pay, Plan to Produce)
Basic level of functional Knowledge of Dynamics 365 ERP Family (Must Have)
Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management (Must Have)
Dynamics 365 Commerce (Nice to have skill)
Dynamics 365 Business Central (Nice to have skill)

Architecture & Lifecycle Management

Strong grasp of Microsoft Azure cloud computing fundamentals
Knowledge of how Dynamics 365 F&O interacts with Azure components
Familiarity with integration patterns and anti-patterns across Business Applications
Proficiency in Microsoft Lifecycle Services for environment setup and troubleshooting
Ability to set up and execute the Regression Suite Automation Tool
Ability to Architect Cross-Platform Integration of D365 F&O with different systems
Basic understanding of integration between Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (CE) and Finance & Supply Chain platforms
Basic level of functional knowledge of Dynamics 365 ERP Family (Must Have)
Fundamental knowledge of Dynamics 365 Commerce and Dynamics 365 Business Central will be a plus

Experience & Certifications

Proven track record in Dynamics AX engineering, architecture, or similar roles
Extensive experience in the technical and functional aspects of Dynamics F&O/AX
Strong proficiency in X++ development, including customisation and extension of Dynamics F&O/AX functionalities
Demonstrated expertise in implementations and the management of ERP software, including integration with third-party systems
D365 F&O or AX technical and functional certifications
Ability to create and maintain comprehensive system documentation and ERP process instructions
Strong teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional team environment
Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and fostering productive collaboration

Required Skill Set

Experience with Finance, Operations and Supply Chain Management
In-depth proficiency in Dynamics AX, encompassing both technical and functional aspects
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to address complex technical challenges and propose effective solutions
Experience in system integration and interfacing with third-party systems
Understanding of ERP system architecture and best practices
Experience in delivering technical or functional training and knowledge transfer sessions
Familiarity with ERP software beyond Microsoft Dynamics F&O/AX (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is a plus
Experience with ERP implementations in retail, manufacturing, or logistics sectors using Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management


Technical Skills:
Mandatory

Proficiency in Dynamics F&O/AX development and customisation using X++
Strong understanding of Dynamics F&O/AX architecture and data model
Experience in Dynamics F&O/AX migration and modernisation projects
Knowledge of system integration and interfacing techniques
Understanding of ERP system administration and best practices
Experience with version control systems and development tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub)
Proficiency in documenting technical designs and system configurations
Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues effectively
Understanding of cloud technologies and their implications for ERP systems
F&O/AX setup and configuration experience
