Your Opportunity
The role of Product Engineer involves overseeing all stages of product development, starting from the initial concept to pre-production. This includes carrying out a range of tasks across different disciplines to ensure that customer needs are met.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Engineering team to work on various engineering tasks, such as proposing design concepts and providing technical solutions to fulfill customer requirements in terms of technical performance, schedule, quality, and cost.
- Coordinate with other operational departments within Molex (manufacturing plants, supply chain, quality) to ensure a smooth transition of proposed designs into production.
- Conduct engineering tasks related to Requests for Quotation (RFQ), including analyzing customer requirements and communicating them with the Molex global development team.
- Engage with the Molex laboratory for product validation processes.
- Establish and maintain relationships with Engineering organizations of customers and suppliers.
- Assist in addressing any quality issues regarding current production parts and handling responses to customer concerns or complaints about part performance.
- Undertake other engineering activities delegated by Engineering Management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the design and development of Automotive products, particularly within a foreign company.
- Strong communication skills for internal interaction within the Molex Group and external communication with Customers and suppliers.
- Experience in the design and development process of automotive parts from concept phase to production.
- Demonstrated ability to create all necessary documentation (FTA, DFMEA, DR, DV/DP).
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software and 2D drawings.
- Computer skills: Proficient in PowerPoint and Excel.
- Proficiency in Japanese (Native or Business level) and English (High-Business level).
Preferred Qualifications
- Over 5 years of work experience in the design and development of wire harnesses.
- Knowledge of automotive connectors requirements.
- Work experience with multinational corporations.
