Senior Compliance Officer - Alternative Investment Management
Our client, a leader in the alternative private market space, is seeking a Senior Compliance Officer for their Tokyo office. This role offers the unique opportunity to lead the application process for Type I and Type II financial services licenses with the Japan FSA, becoming the first compliance hire in Japan. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Type I and II FSA license application process
- Define compliance strategy for Japan office
- Develop and implement regulatory controls for Japan operations
- Act as Anti-Money Laundering Officer for Japan office
- Provide compliance guidance to senior management
- Collaborate with regulators and external partners to mitigate risks
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of compliance experience with FSA-regulated financial entity
- Native-level Japanese and fluent English
- In-depth knowledge of cross-border regulations
- Experience with Type I and Type II FSA license applications
- Experience in anti-money laundering compliance
- Experience in alternative investment management compliance
