Manager of Parent Engagement

Position Summary
ASIJ seeks a dynamic and relationship-driven Manager of Parent Engagement to design,
implement, and lead programs that deepen parent connection to the school and support a strong
culture of philanthropy. As a new role within the Advancement Office, this position will play a key
part in shaping ASIJ's parent engagement strategy, building new programs, evaluating existing
initiatives, and strengthening engagement between ASIJ and our parents.
The Manager of Parent Engagement leads key school events, serves as a liaison to parent
volunteer groups, and collaborates closely with Advancement colleagues to identify, cultivate,
and steward parent supporters. Direct connections with each of the four divisions to understand
and support an effective parent engagement approach from nursery to grade 12.

Responsibilities
Program Development & Evaluation
Build and implement new parent engagement programs that foster community, belonging, and philanthropic awareness.
Assess current parent engagement structures, events, and communication practices; recommend and implement improvements.
Develop an annual and multi-year strategy for parent and alumni-parent engagement aligned with Advancement priorities.
Establish metrics and feedback mechanisms to evaluate program effectiveness.

Relationship Building & Philanthropy Support
Establish and maintain meaningful relationships with parents, volunteer leaders, and community partners.
Serve as a warm and knowledgeable point of contact for new and current families
Recruit, train, and support parent volunteers; ensure consistent communication and alignment with standard operating procedures at ASIJ.
Provide strategic guidance and continuity for volunteer-led events and committees.
Identify and help cultivate potential parent donors in partnership with the Chief Advancement Officer.
Support annual giving initiatives and donor recognition activities.
Coordinate personalized stewardship touches, including holiday cards, welcome notes, and event follow-ups.
Ensure that events support donor cultivation, stewardship, and philanthropic storytelling.

Event Strategy & Management
Lead or support key school community events, including new-family welcome programs, tournaments, and other community-building activities.

Administrative & Operational Responsibilities
Oversee volunteer management and engagement tools (Veracross, google forms, etc.)
Build and maintain organized documentation, timelines, and resources that support
sustainable, year-over-year program growth.
Use the ASIJ primary database for all parent engagement programs. Stay up to date on changes to the Veracross system and understand the cross pollination of data between multiple teams, including by not limited to admissions, divisions, co-curriculars and communication
Use Veracross composer to develop and execute parent engagement communications along with our director of communications
Track engagement data and provide reporting that informs strategic decision-making.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree or relevant professional experience preferred.
Five or more years of experience in independent schools, higher education, nonprofits, advancement, community engagement, or related fields.
Demonstrated success in relationship building, volunteer management, and program or event leadership.
Experience supporting fundraising initiatives is strongly preferred.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-cultural, international environment.
Flexibility to work evenings or weekends during major school events times an academic year)
