This is what you will do:
The Associate Director of the Strategic Planning Office is responsible for formulating and driving company-wide strategies aimed at maximizing corporate value. This role involves close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to develop mid- to long-term strategic plans, identify new business opportunities, and support executive decision-making. Additionally, the Associate Director serves as a key driver of AI and digital transformation initiatives, leading cross-functional organizational change. The role also includes identifying enterprise-level challenges, coordinating across departments, and taking the lead in resolving critical issues.
You will be responsible for:
- Develop and support the execution of mid- to long-term business strategies
- Evaluate and optimize the internal business portfolio
- Identify and propose new business opportunities
- Support internal decision-making processes, including management meeting operations and preparation of briefing materials
- Ensure strategic alignment through collaboration with global counterparts
- Strengthen cross-functional collaboration with internal departments such as Commercial, Medical, and R&D
- Drive strategic initiatives and projects across the organization
- Lead the planning and execution of AI and Digital Transformation strategies
- Coordinate and promote cross-functional implementation of AI/Digital tools
- Design and deliver initiatives to enhance employee AI literacy (e.g., internal training programs, learning path development)
- Explore and assess emerging technologies through collaboration with external vendors
- Identify enterprise-level challenges and lead resolution efforts through interdepartmental coordination
You will need to have:
- Experience of product marketing and/or strategic planning and/or commercial excellence within the pharmaceutical industry. (at least 3 years of proven experience)
- Experience in leading cross-functional projects through collaboration with multiple departments.
- Advanced knowledge of AI and digital technologie is preferred.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
- Interpersonal, negotiation, meeting facilitation and presentation skills, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to accept variety of assignments, highly motivated, a self-starter, and performs well under stress.
- Ability to build and manage collaborative relationships at all levels inside and outside of the organization.
- Strategic thinking including the ability to incorporate the perspective of different stakeholders.
- Leadership that takes the initiative.
- Strong analytical and logical thinking skills, with proficiency in creating presentation materials (e.g., PowerPoint, Excel)
- Fluency in Japanese required; proficiency in English is preferred.
We would prefer for you to have:
- Scientific and commercial knowledge of the rare disease space
- Advanced degree such as an MBA
Certifications or qualifications in AI and data-related fields
