Basic Purpose of the Job
- Overall responsible for the implementation and continuous development of the Compliance Program at Boehringer Ingelheim Japan (BI Japan);
- Represent BI Japan Compliance in the Global Compliance Leadership Team (GC-16);
- Manage and develop effect and professional Compliance Group at BI Japan;
- Continuously Develop, and Improve COMPLIANCE Governance and Awareness inof all BI Japan companies as the Compliance Officer in Japan;
- Support and closely work together with HPAH Compliance Dept. on Global Compliance Initiatives and communication with Global Compliance team.
Accountabilities
1. To protect and enhance BI Japan Corporate Value by ensuring the highest level of compliance among BI Japan employees and management through the training and the Compliance Risk Assessment including monitoring of compliance and managing risk

Achieve measurable Increase in Compliance Awareness among all employees and management of BI Japan and Mitigation of non-Compliance risk through:
• Create and Implement Compliance Training Strategy in alignment with the Global Compliance
• Provide Code of Conduct, Compliance and Legal Training via workshop or e-learning for new graduates and all employees on a regular basis
• Create and e announce the Compliance guidance or contents
• Implement Compliance Risk Assessment in 6 compliance areas via global assessment tool.
• Effectively assist healthcare compliance initiatives in HP and AH as BI Japan Compliance Officer.
2. To foster BI Japan Compliance Culture and cultivate a mindset of BI Japan employees with respect to ownership of compliance.

• In addition to Global Compliance programs such as Compliance Risk Assessment, CoC training, etc., plan and implement local initiative/project(s) to foster BI Japan Compliance Culture, ex. promotion of speak-up, compliance with the personal information protection law and other compliance topics to be addressed at local level from time to time.
3. To develop and implement BI Japan-wide compliance system and strategies in accordance with the Global BI Compliance Program including the Corporate Compliance Policy & Procedures and local regulations as the Compliance Officer in Japan

• Organize and coordinate the Compliance Committee of Japan
• Plan and create a BI Japan-wide compliance program which is in accordance with the global program and local regulations, in alignment with the Compliance Committee of Japan
• Implement the compliance program in 6 compliance areas in collaboration with each compliance area champion
• Take appropriate measures to protect BI Japan's business in accordance with the local laws, particularly with regard to compliance related laws.
4. Lead & Learn: Leading and developing a Professional Compliance Function which delivers and exceeds agreed upon results

• Coordinate the continuing development of expertise, professionalism & competency of BI Japan Compliance members, all BI Japan employees and self through active coaching, promotion and Continuing Legal Education

• Compliance Area Champion of 4areas (Anti-Bribery & Anti-Corruption, Antitrust, Data Protection and Insider Trading) in BI Japan;

• The member of the Ethics Committee for handling Human tissue of Japan
• The member of the Transparency Risk project team of Japan
• The member of the GQP Committee of Japan
Interfaces (e.g. with other functions or business units)
All local functions, stakeholders and business partners including Legal Affairs Group, HPAH Compliance Department and Global Legal & /Compliance Departments
As the Compliance Officer is responsible for the implementation and continuous development of the Compliance Program at BI Japan, he/she will have regular interactions not only with stakeholders and business partners in Japan, but also stakeholders at Boehringer Ingelheim global level (incl. Global Legal & Compliance).
Required Education
Degree / Education:
Bachelor Degree (e.g. Bachelor of Law LL.B);
Masters Degree looked upon favorably (e.g. Master of Laws (LL.M) or Masters of Business Administration (MBA))
Major / Focus
Law; Accounting; Finance; Consulting
Required Capabilities (Skills, Experience, Competencies)
• Minimum 5 years experience in Compliance field;
• Successful Project Management experience (involving different stakeholders);
• Experience working with international stakeholders in English;
Required Skills
• Proficiency in MS Office Tools (incl. Excel; Teams, Sharepoint, OneNote, etc.);
• Basic AI prompting skills;
• Formal Project Management training
