Purpose:

  • Enhance brand credibility and foster meaningful connections with our audience by creating genuine branded content that resonates with the moments that hold significance for adidas, our partners, and the Gen Z demographic.
  • Utilize owned, earned, and paid social media channels to drive engaging conversations and connect audiences to the adidas digital ecosystem.
  • Collaborate with wider internal and external teams to amplify brand stories across various social platforms and key media, maintaining consistency, scale, and impact within the adidas partner portfolio and network channels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Social Media Strategy:
    • Formulate strategies and decisions grounded in insights to drive effective and informed social media initiatives.
  • Localization of Global Initiatives:
    • Support the extension of global market initiatives and campaigns to the local market.
    • Ensure the localization and implementation of activation plans across all owned, earned, and paid social media platforms.
  • Creative Agency Collaboration:
    • Brief creative agencies on the development of localized content.
    • Ensure all creative work is approved by the Managing Editor.
  • KPI and Deadline Management:
    • Identify Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and actively work towards achieving set targets.
    • Collaborate with stakeholder groups to prioritize and deliver projects effectively.
  • Stakeholder Alignment:
    • Translate consumer and internal needs to align internal stakeholders, driving relevant projects and workstreams.
    • Reflect consumer insights in collaboration with internal teams to ensure agility in meeting business plans.
  • Brand Campaign Amplification:
    • Develop plans and briefs to amplify brand campaigns through partners.
    • Align with the Global Partner Publishing Strategy and Global Business Unit priorities/concepts.
  • Partner Content Guidance:
    • Provide direction on capturing content for partners' social channels, adhering to global guidelines and legal compliance.
    • Offer best practice guidance on format types, such as vertical imagery/video for social.
  • Collaboration and Briefing:
    • Collaborate on annual plans with key partners across Culture Marketing, Sports Marketing, and Brand Communications.
    • Respond to briefs from global and local teams, including briefing for social media.
  • Influencer Portfolio Management:
    • Identify key city influencers in partnership with Culture Marketing and SpoMa through the local key city NR network.
    • Maintain an updated portfolio of influencers.
  • Editorial Planning:
    • Create editorial plans for the key city newsroom portfolio, responding to both long-term plans and briefs.
  • Process Adherence:
    • Work within the global brand milestone process to ensure on-time and complete delivery of projects.
  • Education and Training:
    • Provide knowledge sharing sessions for team members on social media usage, content creation, and trend training.
    • Attend workshops and summits to upskill internal teams and partners on strategic direction and industry best practices.
  • Budget Management:
    • Own and manage the budget with agencies and partners.
    • Set up vendors and uphold compliance practices.
  • KPI Monitoring:
    • Monitor the performance of partners against KPIs through internal analytical tools.
    • Provide insights and feedback to stakeholders on the success and outcomes of content placements in social channels.

Required Qualifications:

  • Team Collaboration:
    • Ability to function as a collaborative team player with internal and external partners, demonstrating adherence to adidas values.
  • Communication and Strategic Thinking:
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a high level of strategic thinking.
  • Social Media Expertise:
    • High understanding and experience in the owned, earned, and paid social landscape.
    • Extensive knowledge of social media platforms and advanced proficiency in social analytics tools.
  • Digital Proficiency:
    • Advanced proficiency in MS Office suite of products.
    • Experience in digital marketing/communications with a strong motivation for the ever-changing digital and mobile landscape.
  • Industry Passion:
    • Broad understanding of and passion for the digital, sports, fashion, and entertainment industry.
  • Project Management:
    • Experience in project management from planning to execution.
    • Proven ability to manage and collaborate with internal and external cross-functional groups, including product marketing, communications, social, digital, and retail.
  • Editorial Process Understanding:
    • Understanding of the editorial process, particularly across PR and the social landscape.
  • Japanese Copywriting:
    • Proficiency in Japanese copywriting skills.
  • Presentation Skills:
    • Advanced presentation and organizational skills.
  • Language Proficiency:
    • Fluent written and spoken English language skills.
  • Content Creation:
    • Proven experience in content creation for social media.
  • Research and Writing Skills:
    • Superior writing, research, presentation, and project management skills.
  • Multitasking and Budget Management:
    • Ability to manage and collaborate with internal and external cross-functional groups, including managing stakeholder groups, budgets, and timelines.
    • Agility to manage content publishing on social platforms.
  • Passion for Sports:
    • Knowledge, passion, and understanding of sports, especially in the Running / Outdoors category.

Requisite Education and Experience:

  • Educational Background:
    • University (Bachelor) degree in the field of Business ideally in Marketing, Communications, Digital or equivalent professional experience.
  • Professional Experience:
    • 3-5 years of industry or related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
