The Role

We are seeking Senior SAP Consultants who can lead functional workstreams within a major life sciences transformation program. This role suits professionals with deep SAP expertise who enjoy bridging business and IT teams, navigating global templates, and aligning them to local Japanese requirements.

You will drive solutions in one or more domains:

  • FICO (including AR/AP, FSCM, Vistex)
  • MM / SD (Materials, logistics, order-to-cash)
  • PM / Asset Management
  • PP / Production Execution & shop-floor operations
  • QM / Quality & compliance

This is a remote role within Japan, with occasional domestic travel depending on project needs.

Workstream Leadership

  • Lead the functional workstream in your module area and act as a key liaison between Japan-based business users and global SAP teams.
  • Facilitate process mapping, fit-gap analysis, and design workshops.
  • Ensure alignment with global S/4HANA standards and best industry practices.

SAP Design & Integration

  • Translate business requirements into clear functional specifications.
  • Configure SAP modules within your domain and collaborate on cross-module integration.
  • Support testing, data validation, training materials, UAT preparation, and cutover readiness.

Compliance & Quality

  • Ensure processes meet GxP, compliance, traceability, and audit-readiness standards for regulated industries.
  • Produce and maintain accurate documentation for design, configuration, and decisions.

Change & Adoption Support

  • Provide business-facing support during training, UAT, go-live, and hypercare.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth adoption and operational readiness.

Your Skills

  • 3-8 years of hands-on SAP experience in at least one major module (FICO, MM, SD, PM, PP/PE, or QM).
  • 2+ full-cycle SAP implementations in regional or global programs.
  • Strong business-process knowledge: finance, supply chain, maintenance, production, or quality.
  • Ability to simplify complex SAP concepts for business users.
  • Experience in regulated industries (life sciences, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, healthcare, food, or consulting).
  • Understanding of GxP / Good Practice environments.

Language skills:

  • Japanese: Business level (JLPT N2 or higher)
  • English: Business level

Willingness to travel domestically as needed.

Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced, globally integrated environment.
