Responsibilities
We are looking for Research Associates with Finance and Biology / BioPharma experience, as well as Japanese and English language skills to join our Tokyo office of Bernstein's premier Equity Research platform. The Japan Biopharma team comprises of a small number of professionals, and you will have a high level of responsibility and be empowered to make an important contribution. These are typically 3-5 year positions with outstanding growth potential. Historically, our associate positions have proven to be excellent platforms for successful professional careers in investing.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Acquire expertise in Japan Biopharma companies working with a Senior Analyst who is a seasoned industry expert
- Become highly proficient at in-depth analysis of Biopharma and Healthcare themes, companies, and stocks
- Author highly differentiated written research that is famous for its deep industry insights and quantitative frameworks, including our signature Blackbook product
- Become adept at financial modeling, including building detailed forward-looking earning models
- Build strong relationships across the investing community, including our sales and trading teams and institutional clients
- Build a network within your industry, including senior managements of your companies and industry contacts
Profile required
Eligibility:
- Relevant bachelor/master's degree holders in Biology, Healthcare, Business, and Finance
- Able to start working immediately or up too 3 months notice
- Experienced professionals may be considered as Senior Research Associates
About You:
- Excellent broad-based analytical skills
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Strong intellectual curiosity and passionate about equity research
- Organic leadership and an entrepreneurial mindset
Language Skills:
- English: Business level
- Japanese: Native level or Level 1 JLPT
