Job Title
A Privacy and Data Protection Compliance Specialist will support the RX Global Privacy Office in providing high-quality, timely, and solution-led advice on all aspects of privacy and data protection compliance covering Japan.
About the Role
This role involves leading on the completion of privacy assessments to assess the impact of proposed changes to business processes and agree appropriate mitigating actions with Risk Owners. The successful candidate will also be responsible for measuring and tracking privacy compliance activity, communicating privacy risks and business unit compliance maturity status to the business unit board and RX Global Privacy Office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting the RX Global Privacy Office in providing high-quality, timely, and solution-led advice on all aspects of privacy and data protection compliance covering Japan.
- Leading on the completion of privacy assessments to assess the impact of proposed changes to business processes and agree appropriate mitigating actions with Risk Owners.
- Measuring and tracking privacy compliance activity and communicating privacy risks and business unit compliance maturity status to the business unit board and RX Global Privacy Office.
- Embedding requirements, processes, and standards set by the RX Global Privacy Office, including the implementation of the RX Japan Privacy Programme that dovetails into the RX Global Privacy and Data Protection Compliance Programme.
- Reviewing and drafting of privacy notices and supplementary notices relevant to specific processing activities.
- Updating of the data inventory and reviewing of data flows.
- Delivering tailored privacy compliance training in conjunction with the RX Global Privacy Office.
- Leading and assisting in, and review of rights requests and associated processes.
- Assisting in audit reporting processes.
- Managing and responding to customer privacy and data protection queries.
- Establishing and maintaining an effective and engaged network of privacy champions and key stakeholders within the business unit to drive and embed a culture of privacy.
Requirements
- A good working knowledge of the applicable local legislation such as the APPI etc. The successful candidate must have the ability to analyse legislative requirements and relate these to organisational practices and solutions.
- Deep understanding of online platforms, ecommerce, big data, and processes.
- Strong ability to engage effectively and create buy-in with all levels of the organisation.
- Ability to provide clear and effective communication and reporting on changes and issues.
- A highly visible champion in the business with a can-do attitude and enthusiasm that inspires others.
- Ability to move at pace and use different improvement strategies appropriate to the scope of work.
- Ability to take control and exercise leadership.
- Well-organised and efficient, with the ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively and supportively within a global team.
Qualifications
- Fluency in written and spoken English is required.
- CIPP/A, CIPM or other officially recognised privacy or legal certification.
Salary
£60,000 - £80,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
