Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Java Developer to join our team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for continuing the migration of our legacy monolithic application from on-premise servers to an Azure cloud environment.
Our application is currently Java-based, and we are migrating from Java 8 to Java 17. The role will involve supporting the migration of seven applications, troubleshooting, and implementing solutions for any issues that arise.Key Responsibilities
Continue the migration of our legacy Java-based monolithic application to the Azure cloud environment.
Upgrade the application from Java 8 to Java 17 and ensure compatibility and performance.
Create a test environment to identify and resolve any issues during the migration process.
Troubleshoot and provide solutions to any problems encountered during the migration and testing phases.
Address any vulnerabilities identified during the migration, particularly those related to third-party APIs or the replacement of traditional web services with RESTful web services.
Required QualificationsJava Expertise:
Strong background in Java and experience in supporting web application development, primarily using Spring architecture. Knowledge of Java EE architecture is preferred.
Troubleshooting Skills:
Proven experience in troubleshooting throughout the development lifecycle. Ability to understand existing source code and convert it to newer versions.
Java Platform Knowledge:
Comprehensive understanding of the differences between Java 8 and newer Java platforms.
Cloud Knowledge:
Experience with Microsoft Azure is preferred. Familiarity with lift and shift migration for monolithic (Java EE) or modern architecture environments.
Vulnerability Awareness:
Understanding of the types of vulnerabilities that can arise during migration and how to address them.
Kubernetes:
Knowledge of Kubernetes is preferred.
Language Skills:
Business-level proficiency in both Japanese and English.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with cloud-native development and container orchestration using Kubernetes.
Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices.
Experience with monitoring and logging tools in a cloud environment.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
