*What You Will Do
Role*
As a Applications Engineer, you will be entrusted with the delivery of technical services in an effective and aligned way in the direct sales teams. Work closely with the sales team and our customers to create insights and value that our customers require. You'll help our prospective customers to navigate the value proposition that Tekla offers. Using your business acumen you'll identify the examples where Tekla could offer solutions to their business. The delivery of outstanding technical service is a real differentiator in the AEC Industry in Japan. By supporting the journey to become a fully integrated solution provider, you have a real opportunity to play a key role and make a real difference. More specifically, your accountabilities include:

• Performing technical presale presentations to prospective customers. Act as a technical expert on all the components of Structures solutions and be the primary technical point of contact with the client during the pre-sales phase.
• Effectively presenting the technical benefits of Structures solutions and showing how these translate into business value to the customer.
• Gathering and understanding customers' business drivers/pain points for the project and is able to qualify opportunities with the Sales team.
• Developing and delivering compelling product presentations, demonstrations and proof of concepts.
• Delivery of Trimble Solutions such as Tekla and Trimble Connect Proof of Concepts to prospects in the AEC industry
• As part of the regional team, propose and implement innovative but pragmatic ideas to simplify and automate activities as much as possible.
• Working as part of a small but close knit team in the Osaka offices, having a team working ethic and being open to supporting teams in different tasks where your skills and expertise extend is important to the success of the overall division. This might include supporting customer facing activities and training of customers.
• Bi-lingual language skills in English and Japanese.

What Skills, Experience And Qualifications You Should Have

• Several years experience in the AEC industry.
• Demonstrable experience using CAD or 3D Modelling software.
• A Bachelor of Engineering in Architecture, Construction and Civil.
• Attitude to learn and grow in the ever changing digital landscape from the creation of data to the export of data for use across the broad spectrum of machine automation, engineering drawings production and construction site applications in the AEC industry.
• Appreciation of the concept of BIM data creation, data export, CDE and collaboration in the AEC industry
• Commercial awareness and business acumen that allows you to understand our business model and the opportunities for growth in the Japanese market place.
• Strong communication skills to explain clearly and listen to feedback from customers and industry influencers such as the government agencies.
