Blackstone is investing significantly in the global expansion of its Blackstone Private Wealth business and seeks to hire an accomplished and driven professional to lead and drive our marketing efforts in Japan for Blackstone's Private Wealth business. The role represents an opportunity for a talented, ambitious individual to help drive Blackstone Private Wealth mission of delivering innovative private market solutions, with exceptional service, to wealth managers and their clients.

Reporting to the Head of Blackstone Private Wealth Global Product Strategy, the Head of Blackstone Private Wealth Japan Product Strategy will be responsible for overseeing product development for Japan, including identifying new product ideas, executing product launches and driving new growth initiatives. This role will work collaboratively with the broader Global Product Strategy team as well as other internal teams including Blackstone investment teams, Blackstone Private Wealth sales teams, Investor Services, Marketing, Legal and Compliance, among other groups. As part of the launch process as well as upon launch, the Blackstone Private Wealth Japan Product Strategy team will also continue to provide domain knowledge and expertise on investments, performance, market dynamics and competitors.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Research and monitor regulatory developments and competitive landscapes across alternative asset classes, strategy types and product structures to help identify scale opportunities in Japan;
• Work collaboratively with the broader Global Product Strategy team, Blackstone's investment businesses and business functions to support the creation of new products designed to fit clients' portfolio needs;
• Engage with trade bodies on potential regulatory updates and proposals that maybe relevant to the Blackstone Private Wealth business;
• Work across Blackstone Private Wealth business functions in supporting product initiatives such as Marketing, Sales, Legal and Investor Services;

The Successful Candidate

The successful candidate is a dynamic marketing leader with extensive distribution marketing expertise within a leading investment and wealth management organization. Other professional experiences and qualifications include:

Qualifications:

• Effective people leadership skills; ability to develop and oversee a high performing team.
• An entrepreneurial mindset, self-starter and idea generator.
• Strong business judgment and decisiveness; ability to make informed decisions in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Exceptional project management skills; ability to instill process and structure where appropriate to help scale.
• Extensive product development experience in Japan focusing on intermediary audiences bringing deep knowledge of regional wealth and wholesale segments.
• Demonstrated interest in investments and solid knowledge across alternatives investment products, financial services industry, and capital markets.
• Knowledge of the regional regulatory and legislative landscape in Japan.
• Must have strong written and spoken communication skills; fluency in spoken and written Japanese and English languages is required.
• Desire to work in a team environment, across multiple geographies.
• Ability to work in global organisation managing multiple stakeholders and initiatives simultaneously against tight timelines.
