About the Opportunity


Our client is expanding its Project Logistics capability in Japan to support large-scale global and regional energy projects particularly in the renewable wind power sector. With a project logistics team already established in Japan, this new position will play a key role in scaling the business, enhancing tender success, and building innovative technical logistics solutions.

This role is ideal for a commercially minded project logistics professional who is ready to shape and grow a service offering in Japan, while working on global projects alongside senior regional stakeholders.

Position Summary


The Growth Enablement Lead will partner closely with sales and operations to qualify opportunities, design competitive solutions, and lead tender responses. You will support Japan-based clients but focus mainly on regional and global project pursuits, rather than domestic Japan-only work.

Key Responsibilities


Commercial & Go-to-Market

  • Support the development and execution of the Project Logistics Go-to-Market strategy for Japan, focusing on global opportunities in the renewable energy and industrial sector.

  • Qualify opportunities from Sales, ensuring alignment with target business (not limited to Japan domestic projects).

Tender & Bid Management

  • Lead solution design and competitive bid responses for complex project logistics tenders.

  • Participate in customer meetings, clarifications, technical discussions, and negotiations.

  • Bring innovation and cost-effective ideas to improve win-rate.

Solution Engineering & Pricing

  • Design tailored logistics solutions for renewable energy and industrial equipment movements, including heavy lift, oversized cargo, and multi-modal solutions.

  • Define pricing models and margin settings that balance competitiveness and profitability.

Contract Review & Risk Management

  • Review RFQs and contractual terms to identify risk, compliance obligations, and areas for negotiation.

  • Ensure full HSSEQ compliance and alignment with global standards.

Knowledge-Sharing & Enablement

  • Promote technical knowledge across the Japan commercial team to build capability and confidence in selling Project Logistics solutions.

  • Work closely with regional heads, operations, procurement, engineering, and QHSE teams.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Must-Have Experience

  • Strong hands-on experience in Project Logistics (tendering, solution design, commercial support).

  • Experience in industrial, EPC, renewable energy, breakbulk, or heavy-lift logistics.

  • Ability to collaborate in a matrix organisation across multiple regions.

Preferred Backgrounds

  • Exposure to wind energy projects (e.g., Vestas, GE, Siemens Gamesa, Onshore/Offshore projects).

  • Experience with global forwarders or project logistics specialists (e.g., Deugro, GEODIS, Bolloré, Rhenus, DSV, DHL Industrial Projects, etc.).

  • Comfortable working in a non-Japanese environment (foreign leadership, regional stakeholders).

Soft Skills

  • Strong communication and presentation skills in English.

  • Entrepreneurial mindset: enjoys building rather than only operating established business.

  • Analytical with strong risk management and commercial judgement.

Travel: Domestic travel as required.

Compensation & Level

  • Target salary range: JPY 8M 12M base (up to JPY ~13.5M for strong talent)

  • Annual bonus: ~15%

  • DC pension: ~5%
