About Organization
Rakuten Mobile's Cloud Platform Department serves as the core of its virtualized mobile network. The newly established Cloud Architecture Office within this organization is tasked with combining advanced IT infrastructure and network technologies to operate and evolve a stable and efficient cloud foundation. Rakuten Mobile has revolutionized the telecommunications industry by becoming the first in the world to realize a fully virtualized, cloud-native mobile network. To drive further evolution and business expansion, we are establishing a new organization within the Cloud Division. We are seeking engineers who possess a strong curiosity for IT/network technologies and a desire to leverage their "areas of expertise" to collectively build the next-generation mobile network (6G, AI, power efficiency).
Job Duties
The Cloud Platform Department includes sections involved in cloud technologies such as networking, virtualization, and container technologies, and we will accomplish our mission by collaborating with engineers from each of these sections. This department plans to add more members in the future.
In this position, you will be responsible for the improvement and evolution of Rakuten Mobile's cloud infrastructure and network infrastructure. Leveraging your areas of expertise, you will engage in tasks such as:
・Research, Verification, and Introduction of New Technologies: Including the evaluation of cutting-edge technologies, such as AI, and their consideration for service application.
・Design and Development of Cloud-based Services: Such as PaaS (Platform as a Service) and DBaaS (Database as a Service).
・Promotion of System Improvement and Automation for Cloud Infrastructure and Network Infrastructure Operations and Enhancement: Including operational efficiency improvements and the development of automation scripts and tools.
・Vendor Collaboration: Including technical coordination and negotiation with external vendors.
Minimum Qualifications
・IT (Linux-based) or Network System Operations Experience (3+ years) in a commercial environment.
・Operations experience with container and virtualization platforms.
・Ability to clearly explain the structure of your responsible systems, and a basic understanding of related technologies.
Preferred Qualifications
・Database system operations experience.
・Knowledge of container networking and storage.
・Programming and scripting experience:
・Data center network design and operations experience.
・Design and construction experience with monitoring and visualization technologies (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana).
