This role is responsible to support the delivery across WBD – Studio/Network of all statutory, audit, outsourced accounting and compliance matters for Network Japan/ Studio Korea.
General Accounting
- Period Close Deliverables and Reporting
- Close calendar / Monthly P&L and Balance Sheet review and provision of variance analysis for month end results
- Support in timely completion of month end deliverables relating to divisional responsibilities
- Coordination of all Network Japan/ Studio Korea based treasury related functions
- Liaise with US-based treasury team and provision of information in response to requests
- Regular review and management of cash balances and accounts / facilities. This includes responsible for IC reconciliations and funds settlement
- Provide support to maintain effective internal control environment ensuring controls are compliant with various territory requirements and WBD SOX policy
- Support Sr. Manager and oversee accuracy of balance sheet reporting activity including review of balance sheet reconciliations and quarterly balance sheet footnote disclosures; conduct periodic balance sheet review updates with Finance partners
- Support Sr. Manager and perform ad hoc analysis for APAC Studio/ Network leadership and APAC CFO/Finance teams as well as working with different departments and handle queries within the organization
- Handling System report issues in co-ordination with technical team and highlight system issue to management
- Accurately handling reporting requests/questions received from various stakeholders
- Coordinate with other team members to reconcile identified variance, adjustments to be made
- Assist in various global/ department initiatives, such as system migration and Account Reconciliation Harmonization
- Work closely with P2P/OTC and provide support as needed
Statutory Reporting
- Support Statutory reporting across Network Japan/ Studio Korea
- Supporting E&Y on preparation and drafting of statutory accounts for all local reporting entities
- Support the strategy on an annual basis to deliver all statutory requirements by various timelines, utilizing a combination of internal and outsourced accounting resources.
- Proactively manage internal audits and external filing process through on-going engagement and provide updates and escalation to Sr. Manager
- Support the annual statutory Financial Statement audits with PwC for various WBD legal entities
- Support the coordination between auditors (PwC), Controllership and local outsourced accounting firms to maintain a calendar of deliverables and deadlines for WBD subsidiaries' local statutory reporting requirements.
- Review local intercompany invoices and service fee allocations for Global teams
- Ensure all reporting is accurate and timely, and in line with company policies, best practices, and US/local GAAP.
- Support Japan and Korea statutory reporting and compliance
- Regular interaction with offshore accounting groups in a matrixed organization
Essential:
- CPA preferred or working towards to accounting qualification
- Strong technical experience including experience of month end management accounting for revenue and cost
- US GAAP reporting and SOX experience
- Experience of multi-site and multi-currency reporting
- Minimum -5-7 years of experience in accounting
- High level interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficient to fluent in English
Desirable:
- Familiar with finance applications/information systems e.g. SAP, Peoplesoft, Oracle
- Familiar with working with outsourced financial functions and outsource service providers
- Attention to detail
- Ability to plan and prioritize workloads to meet deadlines
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking and technical accounting skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks
- Proactivity – display strong initiative and ability to identify and rectify issues
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel
- Able to work flexible hours, including possible overtime, when necessary
- Able to organize and schedule work effectively
