Reaktor Japan is a part of the global Reaktor family, serving clients in the Japanese market. We're an ambitious bunch of people looking for a Lead Tech Consultant to join our team in Tokyo.

This is a role that demands deep technical expertise, strong consulting skills, and excellent communication in both Japanese and English.

Your role:

You will be responsible for guiding clients, leading teams and ensuring the successful delivery of complex digital solutions. You will operate at the intersection of technology, business, and product; turning client needs into clear, actionable projects all while working as part of the development team to achieve outstanding results.

Your daily tasks include:

  • Act as the senior technical advisor for our clients as well as your internal team

  • Work together with the client's technology and business teams, facilitating collaboration between different stakeholders to ensure quality delivery

  • Plan and implement new features as part of the development team across frontend, backend and infrastructure

  • Building relationships with the client to ensure future collaboration

  • Support in early sales engagements by acting as the technical advisor to prospective customers

  • Improving the team's ways of working by empowering them to discover optimal workflows and enabling a healthy work-life balance among team members

  • Assisting the team in adopting and following agile practices

You are an experienced technical consultant who can work as part of a development team, while having a strong focus on the client relationship and growing the collaboration.

To thrive in this position, you'll need:

  • Excellent verbal & written Japanese and English skills

  • Have previous experience in leading teams as well as client management (project management / account management)

  • Strong experience across frontend, backend and infrastructure. While we're not looking for an expert in all areas, being specialised in one area while still proficient in others is within expectations

  • Usually, to be successful in this role at Reaktor, we noticed it's good to have about 10 years or more of relevant professional experience

  • Previous experience with at least one common server-side programming language. Currently, many of our projects are built with TypeScript/JavaScript and But, Java/Scala/Kotlin, Golang, and Python are also used

  • Strong knowledge of at least one common client-side language and framework. We often use TypeScript/JavaScript and React on our web app projects and Swift, Java/Scala/Kotlin, or TypeScript/JavaScript/React Native on mobile

  • Relevant skills to create new back-end services and tweak CI/CD pipelines when the project requires

  • Know-how on databases (e.g., PostgreSQL)

  • Willingness to work either from our Ebisu office or the client's premises (occasional remote work is allowed)
