■About This Business Unit

Established in March 2017, this business unit has grown into a major operation handling over ¥280 billion cumulatively. It provides a variety of financial services, including:

・Post-payment and invoicing services for B2B transactions.

・Early monetization services for accounts receivable.

・Fundraising services for startups.

・Invoicing and card payment services for businesses.

The company also offers a FinTech service, a cashless platform that promotes cashless transactions through various payment methods like card and wallet payments, thereby improving back-office efficiency. A key component of this platform is a business card service for sole proprietors and corporations.

The company group has historically offered a wide range of financial services aimed at solving payment and cash flow challenges for businesses. To deliver superior value at the intersection of SaaS and Fintech, they plan to consolidate the company's Fintech-related businesses into this business unit starting in March 2025.

By gathering the group's highly synergistic financial businesses into this unit, they will pursue efficient business operation and enhanced governance, while also driving agile and flexible business strategies, including obtaining necessary licenses and approvals.

You will be assigned to this business unit.

■Business Direction

As long as business transactions exist, there will always be a need to address the complexity of invoicing and the demand for early access to working capital. B2B services require meticulous attention, as invoicing alone is subject to diverse rules and customs across various industries and companies.

This business unit is focused on using technology to achieve visualization and efficiency in response to these needs. Furthermore, they use the business data they accumulate to create new ventures.

The company focuses heavily on corporate credit and the utilization of corporate data, which directly impacts the accuracy and speed of credit decisions. As a result, the service is more than a simple invoicing agency; it manages the entire process from credit approval to settlement and merchant acquisition—effectively performing every function within the credit card industry in-house.

"Settlement" is an extremely broad concept that is closely linked to the data business. The service's strength lies in its ability to take on this broad scope of settlement processes at an operational level and drive transformation.

■Overview

In this role, you will work on the company's core B2B post-payment service business. They are looking for a Backend Engineer to lead the effort in building a service that ensures reliable transactions for client companies by continuously and rapidly enhancing its value through technology selection, architecture design, and application development.

Your mission will be to use engineering to solve a wide range of challenges. This includes continuously solving the pain points of current client companies, as well as developing features that remove obstacles for potential new users considering implementation.

■Responsibilities

You will be involved in the architecture design, technology selection, implementation, release, and continuous improvement of the company's B2B post-payment service, which primarily runs on Google Cloud.

・Understanding challenges and translating them into tangible product features.

・Anticipating product operation from the development phase and sharing those insights with relevant team members.

・Building the mechanisms and structure for rapid incident resolution during operation.

・Proactively engaging in self-learning to expand your technical knowledge and sharing information internally and externally.

・Continuously addressing challenges with the team by enjoying and repeating cycles of learning and challenging yourself.

・Addressing and improving non-functional requirements with a strong sense of ownership.

The company believes that leveraging evolving technology allows for product development that is far more efficient and scalable than traditional methods. However, new challenges constantly emerge, such as issues with observability in serverless architecture and problems arising at service boundaries as microservices are adopted.

The company wants you to proactively address these challenges and approach product development with a focus on ensuring operational continuity even when issues arise.

■Development Methodology

The company utilizes Scrum development. Rather than meticulously finalizing detailed designs before implementation, they favor creating prototypes using candidate architectures and technologies. Even for feature development, they adopt a style that involves releasing small, incremental updates.

They use a one-week sprint cycle. To accelerate the delivery of outcomes to users, they have adopted a GitOps approach, achieving a release cycle based on individual Pull Requests (PRs).

Furthermore, because the service handles real money, the release standard is not simply "it runs," but "it runs correctly." Development requires considering all aspects, including how to handle error cases, retry mechanisms, and incident response procedures.

[Architecture]

The architecture is evolving toward microservices, requiring you to develop with service-to-service communication in mind. Therefore, you are expected to tackle common challenges related to microservice and distributed system architecture. Additionally, they are aggressively utilizing a serverless architecture based on Cloud Run for components that require high scalability.

■Required

Experience developing web applications using frameworks (language agnostic)

Experience developing applications utilizing RDBMS

Experience developing in Golang, or interest in Golang

Experience operating services on AWS, GCP, or other cloud platforms over medium to long term

Experience utilizing container technologies such as Docker

■Language Skills

・Japanese: Business level (目安: approximately 3 years of professional experience in Japanese is a guideline).

・English: You should have English proficiency equivalent to a TOEIC score of 700 or higher and a strong desire to continue learning
