Role Requirements

  1. Work Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in offline distribution channel expansion within the Japanese FMCG/consumer goods industry, with proven success cases in store expansion, business negotiations, and market entry across at least two types of channels such as supermarkets, convenience store chains, and electronics retailers. Familiarity with the intermediary systems, negotiation processes, and cooperation models in Japan's offline distribution channels.

  2. Language Proficiency: Fluent in Japanese (proficient in listening, speaking, reading, and writing), capable of using it as the sole working language for channel communication. Basic English communication skills are preferred.

  3. Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of Japan's offline distribution industry landscape, including familiarity with the entry standards, cooperation models, and operational requirements of key KA channels such as 7-Eleven, Aeon, and Matsumoto Kiyoshi. Knowledge of relevant industry regulations, such as Japan's "Large-Scale Retail Store Location Law."

  4. Capability Requirements: Demonstrated success in channel expansion, with independent capabilities in channel development and business negotiation. Ability to swiftly engage with Japanese channel partners and drive collaboration to implementation. Strong relationship management and problem-solving skills, with communication styles suited to Japanese business culture. Data-driven mindset, capable of optimizing channel strategies through data analysis and review.

  5. Resource Requirements: Possess core resources such as connections with mainstream offline KA clients, regional distributors, or industry associations in Japan, enabling rapid initiation of channel expansion efforts. Prior experience or resources in Japanese logistics and supply chain management are preferred.
