Description
Hiroo Gakuen Junior High School in Hiroo, Minato Ku requires two part-time mathematics teachers. The classes are junior high school second and third grade teaching algebra and geometry.
The curriculum and content are all fixed and all materials and texts are provided. We are looking for bright, energetic people who enjoy teaching and are confident that they can provide motivating, challenging lessons to our high level students.
The part-time salary is 3,500 yen per hour, times the number of contracted hours, times fifty-two weeks, divided by twelve. For example, a 6 hour weekly schedule would be paid as follows: 3500 x 6 x 52 ÷ 12 = 91,000 yen. It is important to note that even though this is a part-time position, the amount paid remains constant throughout the year so is not affected by summer or winter vacations or by whether classes are scheduled or not. Transportation costs are also covered and all salaries are paid on the twentieth of the month.
All classes are 50 minutes in length. The timetable is set and details will be provided upon application. Our classes are from 8:30 - 15:15 Monday to Friday and Saturday mornings 8:30 - 12:25.
Please be aware that we are looking for teachers who can teach our native-level English
speaking students and so no Japanese speaking ability or EFL teaching skills are needed.
The position begins on September 1st 2024 and all candidates must be native-level English speakers with a current, valid visa to work in Japan.
Candidates must be experienced and hold a relevant degree, although formal teaching
certification is not required.
