Tokyo Prefecture, Japan Soho House & Co.

Job Purpose:

As Communications Manager, you will be responsible for generating awareness and driving desirability of Soho House through strategic storytelling, media and creator relations as well as engaging existing members through member communications to establish Soho House Tokyo as the premier hub for Tokyo's creative community. 

This rule requires a blend of strategic planning and on the ground engagement, ensuring the Soho House story translates seamlessly for Japanese creatives. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Lead all Japan communications for Soho House Tokyo, under the guidance of the Global Head of Communications
  • Develop communications plans designed to deliver coverage and content across traditional and digital media and creatorswhile tailoring the tone of voice for the local Japanese audience across all touchpoints 
  • Manage local Communications consultants to deliver agreed plans and be proactive, enthusiast partners
  • Play an active role in building Tier 1 Japanese and Korean media and creator relationships across lifestyle, travel, food, fashion, interiors, design publicationsand influential voices 
  • Manage all local member-facing communications content including monthly newsletters, on-site collateral, outreach emails, etc.
  • Create media kits, announcement alertsand other relevant materials for use in press outreach 
  • Be the eyes and ears for the communications team in Japan; monitorthe press inbox and enquiries, compiling weekly reports etc 
  • Media coverage and volume& quality: Total number of features in Tier 1 lifestyle, fashion, and business publications across Japan and Korea as well as high quality creator content  
  • Share of voice: Positioning Soho House Tokyo as the dominant creative hub in Tokyo relativeto other luxury/lifestyle competitors or other hotel openings  
  • Brand sentiment: Ensuring Soho House's "creativesfirst" ethos is correctly interpreted for the Japanese market  
  • Conversion rate: Successfully converting press buzz and social engagement into membership applications
  • Growth of waitlist:Expanding the Soho House Tokyo waitlist of quality prospective members due media and creator coverage 
  • Member communications engagement: Open and click-through rates for monthly member emails 
  • House programming attendance: Driving attendance to key events
  • F&B awareness: Successful promotion of F&B offeringsdriving reservations and enquiries
