Department Overview
The AI & Data Division (AIDD), creates powerful, customer-focused search, recommendation, data science, advertising, marketing, price, and inventory optimization solutions to a variety of businesses in commerce, fintech and mobile industries. As part of AIDD, Metrics, Data and Insights Department (MDID) is a centralized data analytics team which supports the data analytics and user behavior analysis of key AI-driven products including search, recommendation, advertising and other GenAI application. The team derive insights from data and work with business to make informed decisions.

We are looking for a data analyst to work on collecting, processing, and performing statistical analyses on large datasets to discover useful information, suggest conclusions, and support decision-making. This role provides insights to fuel business growth and enhance customer experience.

Position Details

• Data Exploration and Analysis: Leverage statistical tools and techniques to thoroughly explore and analyze datasets, identifying key patterns, relationships, and trends that drive business growth and improve user experience.
• Data Cleaning and Preparation: Ensure data quality and relevance by filtering data, handling missing values, and meticulously preparing datasets for analysis.
• Data Visualization: Develop compelling visual representations of data insights, including charts, graphs, and interactive dashboards, to effectively communicate findings to diverse audiences.
• Reporting and Communication: Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations that clearly articulate data insights and findings to stakeholders, influencing data-driven decision-making processes.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with various departments to understand their data requirements and provide actionable insights that empower informed decision-making across the organization.

Mandatory Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• Extensive experience (5+ years) as a Data Analyst or in a similar analytical role within the Tech (e-commerce is preferred) industry, demonstrating increasing levels of responsibility.
• Expert proficiency in statistical analysis tools and programming languages, including Python and SQL.
• Proven ability to lead data exploration, analysis, and visualization efforts, with a strong track record of extracting actionable insights from large and complex datasets.
• Experience with data cleaning and preparation techniques and familiarity with database management systems. Knowledge of data warehousing concepts is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within team.
• Highly effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex data insights clearly to diverse audiences, contributing to a data-driven environment within the organization.
• Business-level proficiency in English.

Desired Qualifications
Business-level proficiency in Japanese.
