Department Overview
Our division operates "Rakuten 24, Rakuten 24 Drink Museum, Rakuten 24 Health Care Museum, etc.", a service that specializes in daily necessities, at Rakuten Ichiba, Japan's largest online shopping mall.
"Rakuten Ichiba" is a mall-type business that provides a platform for store openings to sell their products, while our service is a direct-selling business in which Rakuten selects and purchases products from national manufacturers, and performs marketing, sales, shipping, and customer support all at once. As a business, we aim to achieve extremely high medium-term targets, and we continue to make large-scale investments, such as marketing investments and strengthening systems and logistics platforms to enhance service quality.
Our business is one of the Rakuten Group's focus businesses, and one of the businesses that has maintained a high growth rate.

Position
Why We Hire
As lifestyles change due to the COVID-19 pandemic and e-commerce demand expands, national manufacturers are also placing strong expectations for the growth of Rakuten's e-commerce for everyday items. We are also investing on a large scale with the aim of achieving our very high medium-term goals, and are promoting strategic projects with the theme of new service development and value chain transformation.
This position is designed to recruit people who can, with discretion, plan and execute strategic projects aimed at medium-term growth.
Position Details
In order to increase sales and profits, you will analyze issues in various areas and be responsible for all phases of consideration, execution, and verification. Most recently, we are considering reforms in the following back-end areas. There is a large white space in the procurement and logistics areas in particular, and we expect them to make a significant contribution to the medium-term growth of the business.
Examples of themes under consideration
- Strengthening and integration of the value chain of Rakuten24 and other services(Procurement/Logistics area)
- Strengthening the system/service operation platform to realize next-day delivery
- Advanced PL management operations, progress monitoring of various PL improvement measures
- Improving the service level of user support to improve customer satisfaction
- Planning, development, and improvement of services for users/national brands
- Competitive analysis of the daily necessities EC industry
- Improving the productivity of various back-end area operations
- Various project management
In an organization where you will serve as a manager who has experienced reforms in various areas of the back-end, you will be able to accumulate knowledge and experience specific to the value chain such as procurement/logistics together.
This is also a position where you can hone your overall ability in promoting business. You will be able to gain consistent experience not only in strategy planning but also in the execution phase.
Mandatory Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in strategy/service planning at a consulting firm or business company
- Basic knowledge of the daily necessities retail industry and EC
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in service planning in the daily necessities industry
- Experience in analysis and planning using Power Point and Excel (experience using vlookup and pivot)
