Favorite Medium is a digital consultancy specializing in software product development and venture creation. Established in 2006, we have presence in Singapore, Tokyo, Seoul, and San Francisco and have developed digital products for clients all over the world in the media, technology, and financial services verticals. Our key practice areas are UX design and software engineering.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a strong background in technology consulting or software development to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing new client relationships, driving sales and revenue growth through new business acquisition, and identifying opportunities for growth in the Japan market.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a sales strategy to achieve revenue and profitability targets
  • Establish a network of partners for market entry (eg strategy consultancies, design agencies)
  • Generate leads through marketing, networking, and outreach activities
  • Nurture and expand existing client relationships, identify up and cross-sell opportunities
  • Qualify leads, conduct needs assessments, and develop proposals and presentations to potential clients
  • Manage the sales process from prospecting to contract negotiation and close
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and competitor activities to identify new market opportunities
  • Collaborate with internal delivery teams to ensure client expectations are met and projects are delivered successfully, post-sale
  • Attend industry events and conferences to build relationships and generate leads
  • Provide regular sales and pipeline reports to senior management

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in Business Development or Sales
  • Proven track record of success in business development and sales in technology consulting or related services industry
  • Background in computer science, engineering or IT strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with clients and partners
  • Native Japanese communication and presentation skills
  • Basic English communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working in an international environment and across time zones
  • Hunter mentality with a farmer's mindset
  • Must be based in the greater Tokyo area
