Features and Strengths

With the strength of the Rakuten Point market, which has surpassed 3 trillion yen in total issuance, we are building the "Rakuten Economic Circle" through service collaboration with Rakuten Group companies and the introduction of cashless settlement services in physical stores, which are growing at an accelerated pace. Our settlement services can be used at approximately 5 million online and offline locations, including supermarkets, convenience stores, and shopping malls nationwide, as well as at approximately 1 million locations where traffic-related e-money can be used, and the number of locations where this service can be used is continuing to expand.

Rakuten Pay (Online) ) has been experiencing significant growth since its launch in 2008. It is one of the largest web-based ID payment services in Japan, adopted by over 9,000 e-commerce operators nationwide.

About The Development Organization
Our department is responsible for the entire process from system development to the operation of Rakuten Pay (Online). The organization is divided into development and operations, each with dedicated producers and engineers. We provide an environment where each group can focus on their specific missions and challenges while maintaining active and seamless communication across the organization. This encourages collaboration beyond organizational boundaries, enhancing our daily operations and continuous improvement efforts.

Position Details
Your main role will be to lead over whole development phases from requirements definition to system operation and maintenance as a project manager. In the requirement definition phase, you will need to coordinate with team leader manager to determine customers' desires, and work closely with engineers to meet stakeholders' needs. For the next phases, you will also work directly with clients to ensure deliverables fall within the applicable scope and budget, coordinate with developers and other departments to ensure all aspects of each project are compatible, and develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress.

• New Shop-oriented application system

You're continually improving the development process. Your experience and innovative idea are expected to be contributed to the improvements process. Also, we expect your strategic mindset and the leadership skill to perform, implement and execute the projects. Since payment service requires to be met with a high security level and quality, you can gain a wealth of knowledge and experience. Furthermore, you can broaden the knowledge of BtoBtoC business.

Even though you will be assigned as project manager after you join, it is possible to change your career path (eg. product manager/team manager) upon your skill and consultation.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with business side to determine customer's needs and desires, engage fully in system planning, requirement and design phases

Mandatory Qualifications

• Experience in requirements definition (at least 3 years)
• Experience in driving projects as PM or PL.

• 5+ years' experience in project management for web services development
• Ability to analyze and solve problems
• Ability to think and act independently
• Ability to proactively enhance and optimize processes while respecting established workflows
• A strong sense of responsibility, ownership and teamwork
• Develop comprehensive project plans to maintain services
