What is Rakuten's Advertising Business?
Rakuten Group provides optimal and best-in-class communication to users, advertisers, and publishers alike.
We achieve this by combining our unique "Rakuten Ecosystem" (economic sphere), formed by over 70 services developed by Rakuten Group, with strong membership, various technologies, and vast amounts of data.
To further accelerate business expansion, we are looking for colleagues to join us in taking on new advertising business challenges, leveraging abundant resources and extensive data.
Department Overview
Our mission is to contribute to the expansion of the Rakuten Ecosystem and the advertising business by creating touchpoints, acquiring data, and gaining users, both online and offline.
We formulate strategies through a wide range of initiatives, including dynamic media planning and effectiveness analysis utilizing the Rakuten Group's diverse services, as well as creative improvement proposals for campaign pages, display ads, and email advertisements.
Advertisers come from a wide range of industries, including e-commerce, education, and real estate, allowing you to gain broad industry experience.

To support the monetization of advertising assets across various Rakuten Group services by utilizing performance-based advertising.
Details of Responsibilities
Proposing optimal advertising plans tailored to advertiser needs, leveraging media characteristics.
Considering and creating improvements for advertisers' creatives.
Analyzing effectiveness using various tools.
Developing new advertising products based on a performance-based business model.
What You Will Enjoy
You will be involved in large-scale marketing activities utilizing Rakuten's assets. You can also leverage your ideas to develop new advertising offerings.
Regarding daily operations, communication will predominantly be in Japanese, with English primarily used for tasks such as document creation.
Work Environment
Team Members: 9 members (primarily in their late 20s to 30s)
Our team consists predominantly of mid-career hires with diverse backgrounds, including experience in advertising agencies, media companies, ad operations, and media planning/analysis within corporate marketing departments.
As you gain an understanding of various services within the Rakuten Group, you will also acquire expertise in areas such as marketing across different group entities, fostering diverse career paths.
Mandatory QualificationsAt least 3 years of work experience.
Proven experience in project promotion and management (e.g., continuous PDCA cycle management).
Knowledge of internet advertising (media/agency/operations).
Desired Qualifications
Experience in operating affiliate programs at an advertising agency (2+ years).
Experience in planning and executing new advertising schemes/projects.
Experience in creative improvement and ad delivery efficiency improvement.
Knowledge of web technologies such as HTML.
Sales or operational experience in performance-based advertising such as SEO/SEM.
Ability to proceed with work by repeatedly verifying and improving effectiveness.
Ability to perform planning based on various data.
Experience in sales promotion for point sites.
