Our client, a leading Japan-based private equity firm, is seeking an Investor Relations professional at the Associate to Vice President level to join its Investor Relations team in Tokyo.
This role is designed for a hands-on, execution-oriented IR professional who will work closely with senior team members that have successfully led multiple fundraising cycles.
Rather than leading large-scale initiatives independently, the successful candidate will strengthen the front line by being deeply involved in day-to-day investor communications and fundraising execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Investor Relations / LP Coverage
Support existing fund investors through ongoing communication and relationship management.
Prepare investor-facing materials such as notices, reports, letters, and presentations.
Create materials for fund general meetings, advisory board meetings, and quarterly reporting.
Respond to inquiries from domestic and international investors in a timely and professional manner.
Fundraising Execution
Support fundraising efforts across multiple investment strategies, including:
Identifying and researching prospective investors
Assisting with investor outreach and proposal preparation
Coordinating and responding to investor due diligence requests
Supporting negotiations, documentation, and onboarding processes
Assist with planning and execution of overseas roadshows, including scheduling and investor meetings.
New Strategy & Business Development Support
Participate from an early stage in discussions around new investment strategies.
Support fundraising initiatives for new funds from planning through execution.

Experience
Target seniority:
Associate to Vice President.
Experience at a financial institution, such as: Investment banks or securities firms , Asset management firms or investment advisory companies, Banks or insurance companies
Relevant backgrounds may include:
Institutional sales or relationship management
Investment product marketing
Consulting or middle/back-office roles with meaningful investor interaction
Experience with alternative assets and/or asset management (PE, equities, fixed income) involving investor communication is strongly preferred.
Strong Fluency in Japanese is essential along with high business level English
Skills & Attributes
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.
Comfortable working closely with senior professionals in a collaborative, execution-driven environment.
Professional maturity, discretion, and strong sense of ownership.
