The FinTech Group Company provides various fintech (financial) services, including payment services such as Rakuten Card, point programs, internet banking services, securities trading services, and insurance services.

Rakuten's strength lies in providing a wide range of fintech services from online to offline.

Department Overview

Rakuten Payment is a company responsible for payment services within the Rakuten Group.

We provide payment services such as "Rakuten Pay" and "Rakuten Point Card," connecting merchant companies (stores where Rakuten Payment services can be used) with users, contributing to the promotion of a more convenient cashless society.

The Customer Service Development Department is a department that develops cross-functional services for Rakuten Payment's merchant companies and internal use, and is also responsible for promoting AI.

We play a central role in AI strategy and lead company-wide AI implementation.

We promote AI application to all business operations within Payment, including sales, marketing, and screening.

Through these activities, we aim to provide value to Payment users and merchant companies through AI and contribute to the Payment business.

We are consistently involved from the planning stage of AI projects to business application and operation.

Our department operates multiple products utilizing AI, including a data integration platform that supports internal business operations and fraud detection systems, handling a wide range of AI-related services.

Since we are not limited to specific businesses, we can acquire a broad range of market trends and business knowledge about Rakuten Payment services.

With the increase in AI projects, personnel with specialized knowledge in project management have become essential.

We are also seeking AI project managers who can be immediate assets to accelerate the launch of new AI projects.

Specifically, we welcome those with AI project management experience, data analysis knowledge, and business communication skills. Members with diverse backgrounds are active, and a culture of mutual cooperation and challenging new technologies is well established.

Position Details

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for promoting AI within Payment, executing AI themes, and building AI infrastructure.

You will plan projects utilizing AI that can contribute to users and business, and be responsible for stakeholder management, ROI definition, execution formation design, project deliverable definition, risk management, and delivery planning.

Team & Project Structure

You will lead the project to success as a united team with Project Managers, Data Scientists, and Engineer teams while conducting risk management, WBS management, and visualization of dependencies.

Project Managers and Data Scientists work together as one team (4-6 members per team) to promote AI projects.

Nationality ratio: 60% overseas nationals, 40% Japanese

Number of projects per service: 4-5 projects

Scope of Responsibility

Setting project milestones and building consensus
Organizing project formation
Defining project deliverables
Risk management
Grasping project status and reporting

Mandatory Qualifications

AI project management experience: 3 or more years of experience in project management utilizing AI.

Technical knowledge:
Basic understanding and knowledge of AI, machine learning, and data science.

Team management ability:
Ability to collaborate with engineers and data scientists.

Communication skills:
Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders.
Problem-solving ability: Ability to quickly resolve issues that arise during project progress.

Language skills:
Business-level Japanese and English proficiency

Desired Qualifications

Agile development experience:
Experience in projects using agile development methods such as Scrum and Agile.

Data analysis experience:
Experience in data analysis using programming languages such as Python and R
